Software Test Manager

About the Role

Cognizant is seeking an experienced Software Test Manager to join our team in Riyadh. This full-time position requires strong expertise in the Telecom domain to lead and manage end-to-end testing activities for telecom applications and platforms. The role focuses on test management, QA strategy, automation, and comprehensive understanding of telecom systems.

Role Summary

The Software Test Manager will be responsible for defining and implementing robust test strategies and methodologies for telecom projects. This includes leading QA teams, overseeing all testing phases, and ensuring thorough coverage across OSS/BSS ecosystems. The manager will also coordinate with various stakeholders to deliver quality outcomes and drive continuous improvement in testing practices.

Key Responsibilities

• Define and implement test strategies, plans, and methodologies for telecom projects.
• Lead and manage QA teams, including manual and automation testers.
• Oversee all testing phases including SIT, System Testing, Regression Testing, UAT, and End-to-End Testing.
• Ensure testing coverage for telecom applications across OSS/BSS ecosystems.
• Coordinate with business stakeholders, project managers, developers, and vendors to ensure quality deliverables.
• Manage defect lifecycle, risk assessment, and mitigation plans.
• Drive test automation initiatives and continuous testing practices.
• Establish and monitor QA metrics, KPIs, and quality benchmarks.
• Ensure compliance with SDLC, Agile, DevOps, and quality standards.
• Prepare status reports and provide quality insights to senior management.
• Support production releases and post-deployment validation activities.

Required Qualifications and Experience

• 10+ years of software testing experience.
• At least 4+ years of experience in a Test Manager role.
• Mandatory experience in the Telecommunications domain.
• Strong understanding of various telecom systems.
• Experience in Agile, Scrum, and DevOps environments.
• Excellent stakeholder management and leadership skills.

Technical Expertise

• Expertise with test management tools.
• Strong knowledge of API, Database, and Integration Testing.
• Experience with automation tools.
• Hands-on experience in performance and non-functional testing.
