Sr. Engineer Cost Control

About the Role

alfanar Building Systems is seeking a Sr. Engineer Cost Control to oversee the financial performance of projects. This full-time role is based in Riyadh and involves leading cost management, budgeting, forecasting, and reporting activities. The successful candidate will monitor project costs, identify potential cost overruns, and collaborate with project teams to implement corrective actions and maintain financial control.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead the development and maintenance of project budgets, covering labor, materials, equipment, subcontractors, and other project costs.
• Monitor project expenditures against approved budgets, analyze cost variances, and report findings to senior management.
• Prepare and update cost forecasts, assess financial risks, and recommend appropriate cost control measures.
• Manage changes to project scope and budget, ensuring proper documentation, approval, and assessment of their financial impact.
• Apply Earned Value Management (EVM) techniques to evaluate project cost performance and identify deviations from financial targets.
• Coordinate with Planning and Scheduling teams to align project timelines, milestones, and resource requirements with budget constraints.
• Prepare periodic cost reports, financial forecasts, and management presentations to support project decision-making.

• Problem-Solving: Solve related problems as they arise and escalate complex operational issues.
• Quality: Ensure quality requirements are met to develop effective quality control and processes, including specifications for products, processes, or related activities.
• Business Process Improvements: Coordinate well-defined written systems, policies, procedures, and seek automation opportunities.
• Compliance: Comply with related policies, procedures, and work instructions.
• Health, Safety, and Environment: Ensure compliance with relevant safety, quality, and environmental management procedures and controls within the defined area of work activity to guarantee safety, legislative compliance, and delivery of high-quality products/services.

Required Experience

Candidates should possess 5-10 years of relevant experience in cost control and financial management within projects.

This is a full-time position based in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia. The role involves working collaboratively with project teams and senior management to ensure financial objectives are met.
