Join Emerson as a Purchasing Leader - Control Valves (SPARK)The Purchasing Leader will take charge of the direct sourcing of materials from an approved supply base, ensuring all materials are procured and delivered to the factory in alignment with operational strategies. This role emphasizes the importance of vendor relationships and process optimizations that support cost savings and efficiency improvements.
Your Responsibilities Includes:- Purchasing:
- Perform procurement activities and issue Purchase Orders (POs) to external suppliers and internal departments, ensuring timely deliveries.
- Communicate performance reports to key suppliers and facilitate regular meetings.
- Manage supplier on-time delivery reports and facilitate root cause analyses when necessary.
- Communicate business needs effectively to suppliers, influencing and empowering them to meet objectives.
- Lead daily MRB (Material Review Board) activities, acting as a focal point in communications across departments.
- Leadership:
- Manage and oversee the procurement process and procurement team.
- Supervise, mentor, and delegate responsibilities to team members in line with KPIs.
- Promote continuous improvement within the procurement function and ensure alignment with organizational goals.
- Lead cross-functional projects aimed at improving procurement processes.
- Inventory Management:
- Oversee all inventory management activities to optimize efficiency.
- Develop strategies to minimize carrying costs while ensuring material availability.
- Conduct annual inventory counts to ensure compliance with financial and operational requirements.
- Cost Saving Initiatives:
- Monitor procurement spending and identify cost-saving opportunities.
- Implement localization initiatives and other strategies to improve efficiency.
- General Quality:
- Adhere to Quality Assurance procedures as outlined in the QA Manual.
- Ensure that all final products meet the required standards prior to completion.
Who You Are:You are action-oriented with a strong customer focus and excellent communication skills. You have a deep understanding of obtaining value from suppliers while fostering a collaborative team environment.
Qualifications:- 5-7 years of procurement experience in the control valve industry.
- Mechanical Engineering degree preferred.
- APICS CPIM certification or in process / Level 5 CIPS Diploma is a plus.
