About the Role

Alfanar is seeking a Sr. HSE Engineer to join its team in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia. This full-time role is central to supporting the implementation of Health, Safety, and Environmental (HSE) systems and practices. The successful candidate will perform advanced risk assessments, monitor site conditions, and ensure strict compliance with health, safety, and environmental regulations. This position contributes technical expertise to improve HSE standards and supports emergency preparedness and response activities across operations.

Key Responsibilities

The Sr. HSE Engineer will be responsible for a comprehensive range of duties aimed at maintaining and enhancing HSE performance, integrating safety into operational processes, and fostering a culture of compliance. This includes:

• Conducting detailed HSE risk assessments and evaluating protection and prevention measures.
• Validating protection systems and verifying compliance with international standards and company policies.
• Identifying hazards, assessing risks, and recommending corrective measures to reduce incidents.
• Applying HSE requirements within engineering and operational processes.
• Reviewing technical documentation and designs to verify safety considerations and environmental compliance.
• Preparing HSE awareness content and supporting the delivery of training sessions.
• Providing technical information to employees and contractors to ensure understanding of safety rules.
• Developing and maintaining emergency response plans and participating in drills and exercises.
• Supporting the preparation of site evacuation procedures and response materials.

Monitoring and Reporting

A core aspect of this role involves diligent monitoring and accurate reporting to ensure continuous adherence to safety and environmental protocols:

• Performing HSE inspections and collecting data on compliance and site conditions.
• Preparing HSE reports with detailed findings and recommending corrective actions.
• Carrying out on-site audits, inspections, and safety checks to ensure adherence to standards.
• Recording and documenting observations, highlighting risks and required improvements.
• Drafting and maintaining HSE documentation, incident logs, and analysis reports.
• Supporting the preparation of root-cause analyses and recommendations after incidents.

Continuous Improvement

The Sr. HSE Engineer will actively contribute to the ongoing enhancement of safety systems and procedures:

• Researching and suggesting updates to HSE procedures based on industry best practices.
• Analyzing incident trends and proposing enhancements to safety systems.
