Role Overview: System Engineer

The System Engineer is a full-time, on-site role based in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia. This position is responsible for the design, implementation, and maintenance of IT systems and infrastructure that support client environments. The role involves configuring servers, networks, and storage solutions, performing system monitoring, and ensuring the high availability and security of critical systems. The System Engineer will diagnose and troubleshoot technical issues, provide escalation-level technical support, and collaborate with project teams and vendors on system integration and deployment activities. The ideal candidate will have 2-5 years of experience in a relevant field.

Key Responsibilities

• Install, configure, manage, and maintain Microsoft Exchange Server environments, including mailboxes, distribution groups, and access permissions.
• Monitor email service performance, manage mail flow rules, and troubleshoot related technical issues.
• Install, configure, manage, and maintain Windows Server systems and associated services, monitoring performance and resources.
• Manage and operate virtual server environments using VMware and Microsoft Hyper-V, including VM creation and resource allocation.
• Manage and maintain Microsoft Active Directory Domain Services (AD DS), including user accounts, groups, OUs, and Group Policy Objects (GPOs).
• Manage and maintain infrastructure-related DNS and DHCP services, troubleshooting login and authentication issues.
• Operate and maintain technical infrastructure services, monitor system availability, and manage backup operations and recovery tests.
• Collaborate with the cybersecurity team to implement security requirements, execute system hardening procedures, and remediate vulnerabilities.
• Provide advanced technical support (Level 2 / Level 3) for server, system, and infrastructure issues, prioritizing resolution based on impact.
• Document configurations, maintain operational procedures, and contribute to continuous improvement of system performance, reliability, and security.

Technical Expertise

• Proficiency in Microsoft Exchange Server administration, including mail flow and security.
• Strong experience with Windows Server systems, performance monitoring, and maintenance.
• Expertise in virtual server environments (VMware, Microsoft Hyper-V).
• In-depth knowledge of Microsoft Active Directory Domain Services, GPOs, DNS, and DHCP.
• Understanding of infrastructure service continuity, backup operations, and disaster recovery planning.
• Familiarity with cybersecurity best practices, system hardening, and vulnerability remediation.
• Ability to provide advanced technical support and manage incidents effectively.

Qualifications and Experience

• 2-5 years of experience as a System Engineer or in a similar IT infrastructure role.
• Demonstrated ability to design, implement, and maintain complex IT systems.
• Experience with system monitoring, troubleshooting, and root cause analysis.
• Strong collaboration skills for working with project teams, vendors, and cybersecurity personnel.
• Excellent documentation skills for configurations, operational procedures, and technical reports.
