About Oivan and the Role

Oivan is seeking a Technical Product Owner (TPO) to lead one of its largest local software development initiatives. This full-time role is based on-site at a customer's premises in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia. The Technical Product Owner will lead cross-functional teams to deliver high-quality technical solutions, ensuring alignment with organizational goals and client expectations. This position sits at the intersection of business and technology, bridging communication between client business analysts and technical delivery teams to meet both business and technical objectives.

Product Ownership and Technical Direction

The Technical Product Owner collaborates with business owners (both the client and Oivan) to clarify and finalize all technical aspects of Business Requirement Documents (BRDs) and Change Requests (CRs) before assignment to development teams. This includes ensuring that the technical direction aligns with overall business goals and future scalability needs. The role also involves identifying and managing technical risks and challenges that could impact delivery, performance, or long-term maintainability, and translating complex technical concepts into clear, actionable language for non-technical stakeholders.

Agile Delivery and Scrum Leadership

Key responsibilities include facilitating Scrum ceremonies such as Sprint Planning, Daily Stand-ups, Sprint Reviews, and Retrospectives. The Technical Product Owner acts as a servant leader, removing impediments and fostering collaboration within cross-functional teams. This role supports Product Owners in defining, prioritizing, and maintaining the technical backlog, ensuring transparency and shared understanding. It also requires balancing priorities between technical debt, architecture improvements, and feature development.

Collaboration and Quality Assurance

The Technical Product Owner works closely with the Oivan development team and external technology partners to ensure a full understanding of technical requirements and constraints. This includes participating in code reviews, architecture discussions, and technical planning sessions as required, and facilitating technical decision-making to align teams on architecture and implementation strategies. The role ensures that all technical implementations meet defined acceptance criteria, security standards, and quality expectations, participating in User Acceptance Testing (UAT) and assisting in resolving technical issues. Oversight of deployment and release processes is also required to ensure smooth, reliable rollouts with minimal downtime, validating that technical delivery aligns with business objectives and customer needs.

Resource and Stakeholder Management

This position involves allocating resources effectively based on team capabilities and project needs. The Technical Product Owner coordinates closely with HR and project stakeholders to ensure the availability of required resources. Maintaining clear communication with internal and external stakeholders is essential, providing regular updates on progress, risks, and mitigation plans.

Required Qualifications

  • At least 5+ years of experience in technical product ownership, technical project management, or related roles within the software development or IT service industry.
  • Proven ability to lead Agile software development teams and deliver complex technical solutions.
