Role Overview: Head of Typhoon Technical Support Service (CAMSS)

Based in Taif, the Head of Typhoon Technical Support Service (CAMSS) is a full-time leadership position responsible for the management and governance of the TTSS organisation. This role delivers delegated Continuing Airworthiness Management Support Services (CAMSS), technical support, reliability, airworthiness review, and coordinated design services interface within the Salam Typhoon operating environment. As a Nominated Post Holder/Form 4 holder, the Head of TTSS ensures that robust processes, procedures, controls, and assurance arrangements are established and maintained to provide accurate, controlled, traceable, and compliant technical data and airworthiness advice to the Customer.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead, manage, and professionally develop TTSS personnel, including succession planning and competence development.
• Ensure compliance with applicable CAME requirements, M&CA Mandates, contractual obligations, and Customer continuing airworthiness arrangements.
• Establish, maintain, and continually improve TTSS processes, procedures, and local controls for CAMSS and technical support.
• Manage the TTSS local governance framework, including the TTSS Manual, controlled processes, competence arrangements, and delegated authorities.
• Provide technical advice, analysis, and recommendations for Customer continuing airworthiness activities, such as In-Service Data Analysis (ISDA) and Maintenance Programme Optimisation (MPO).
• Manage and coordinate TTSS inputs for maintenance programme recommendations, reliability programme activity, and effectiveness monitoring.
• Establish and maintain the Typhoon Airworthiness Review Certificate service, ensuring reviews are planned, controlled, and delivered for Customer approval.
• Coordinate TTSS support for modifications, repairs, Technical Instructions, Service Instructions, Airworthiness Directives, and other mandatory requirements with continuing airworthiness impact.
• Liaise with Design Organisations and technical stakeholders to support approved modification, repair, and capability insertion activities.
• Provide strategic and tactical fleet planning advice, identifying opportunities to improve planning, maintenance tasking, and aircraft availability.
• Assess known defects, technical findings, and significant fleet trends for continuing airworthiness, safety, reliability, and operational impact.
• Manage, control, and archive continuing airworthiness records within TTSS scope, ensuring completeness, accuracy, and traceability.
• Report, escalate, and support investigations of occurrences, findings, or non-compliances of a continuing airworthiness nature.
• Manage TTSS interfaces with the Customer, M&CA, Salam Operations, Maintenance, Design Organisation, and other relevant stakeholders.
• Monitor and improve TTSS performance through contractual measures, service delivery reviews, and internal assurance processes.
• Ensure TTSS personnel are competent, authorised, current, and appropriately trained for their assigned continuing airworthiness and technical support activities.
• Act as a full member of the Salam Operations Senior Leadership Team, contributing to wider business leadership and organisational improvement.

Required Qualifications and Experience

• An HND or Degree in a relevant technical discipline, acceptable to M&CA.
• Part 66 licensed (current or lapsed), or a suitable equivalent technical license acceptable to M&CA.
• Over 10 years of extensive post-qualification practical maintenance/Continuing Airworthiness (CA) experience, supported by formal records, including experience within a relevant CA environment.
• Demonstrated experience in a relevant management role.
• Fluent in English, both written and spoken.

Desirable Attributes

• Chartered Engineer status with a professional institute such as the Saudi Council of Engineers, Royal Aeronautical Society, or Institute of Engineering & Technology.
• Experience with Typhoon aircraft, including relevant type or equipment-specific training (*, Typhoon Q Course or equivalent platform familiarisation).
• Experience operating in a senior military aviation support, continuing airworthiness, technical support, reliability, maintenance programme, or Customer-facing governance role.
