ES&H Advisor (Night Shift) ArRjum

About the Role

Bechtel Corporation is seeking an ES&H Advisor for the night shift at the Ar Rjum Project in Saudi Arabia. This full-time role is based approximately 200 km north-east of Taif towards Riyadh, near Al Mouwayh. The ES&H Advisor will support the implementation of Environment, Safety, and Health (ESH) management programs, systems, and processes, providing technical oversight and overall support to control risks to people, property, and the environment within a specific area.

Project Overview

The Ar Rjum Project is a greenfield gold project located within the Central Arabian Gold Region. It includes three open-pit mining operations with associated waste dumps and ore stockpiles, a processing plant, tailings management facilities, and supporting infrastructure. This infrastructure encompasses water supply, power supply, maintenance facilities, offices, and both temporary and permanent accommodation villages.

Key Responsibilities

• Actively support area leaders in implementing the ESH program.
• Verify the availability and understanding of approved Night Work Plans, Method Statements, JHAs, FLHAs, permits, and activity briefings by the workforce before night work commences.
• Monitor ESH program implementation and report on successes and areas for improvement.
• Conduct night shift site inspections to confirm safe work execution, adequate supervision, workface controls, housekeeping, access and egress, barricading, signage, and traffic management.
• Identify best practices for implementation.
• Maintain working relationships with client representatives, leaders, and other ESH team members.
• Participate in area leader meetings to identify and report on ESH requirements.
• Act as the lead investigator for any significant incident in their assigned area.
• Supervise and maintain a team providing in-field ESH support to all construction areas.
• Identify activities that directly reduce risk.
• Act as the ESH focal point for the night shift.
• Verify that emergency preparedness arrangements are available during night work, including communications, emergency access, medical coverage, rescue arrangements, fire response, and muster point readiness.

Qualifications and Experience

• Bachelor's degree or higher in an ESH discipline.
• NEBOSH Certification.
• 6-8 years of ESH experience in the industrial construction or heavy engineering industry.
• 2+ years of experience directly supervising a team of 3 to 4 ESH professionals.
• 2+ years of ESH experience in a complex work environment.

This is a full-time position located at the Ar Rjum Project site in Saudi Arabia, approximately 200 km north-east of Taif towards Riyadh. The role specifically covers the night shift operations.
