About the Role

BAE Systems Saudi Arabia is seeking a Fleet Planner to join its team in Taif. This full-time role involves performing fleet management and planning within the Typhoon Support Centre (TSC), ensuring the Royal Saudi Air Force (RSAF) Typhoon fleet is effectively managed and maintained. The position reports to the Fleet Plans and Statement of Requirement (SoR) Team Leader and requires 2-5 years of relevant experience.

BAE Systems operates as the UK Government’s nominated Prime Contractor, providing equipment, support, and training to Saudi Arabia under Government-to-Government arrangements. The company is responsible for the maintenance of RSAF aircraft and the training of RSAF and Royal Saudi Naval Force personnel. BAE Systems Saudi Arabia is committed to supporting the Saudi Arabian National Agenda, including Saudisation and the development of Saudi National capability through partnerships and industrialisation initiatives.

Key Responsibilities

  • Support the development of tactical and strategic fleet management plans for endorsement by the TSC Commander, considering scheduled maintenance, modifications, and capability upgrades.
  • Monitor Flying Hour (FH) and Fatigue Index (FI) consumption across the Typhoon fleet, compiling reports and recommendations for TSC Commander’s approval to support planning and ensure effective distribution of airframe life consumption.
  • Create Typhoon maintenance activity programmes through ESS updates in conjunction with Forward Operations and TSC Business Data, assessing impact on fleet availability and recommending planning strategies.
  • Review Technical Instruction (TI) requirements with TSC Business Data personnel, Forward Operations, and Supply, assessing fleet impact and recommending embodiment strategies for TSC Commander’s endorsement.
  • Monitor maintenance scheduling effectiveness and compliance of the Typhoon fleet against approved maintenance programme requirements.
  • Coordinate reviews of reports and recommendations from the TSC In Service Data Analysis (ISDA) team with TSC Technical Specialists and Forward Operations personnel to determine actions or initiate further investigation.
  • Initiate ad-hoc analysis of Typhoon sub-system data by the TSC ISDA team and relevant Technical Specialists to identify trends and opportunities for development and improvements.
  • Direct ad-hoc analysis of specific system in-service data by TSC ISDA and Technical Specialists to perform fleet management tasks.
  • Develop and maintain TSC Processes and Procedures related to fleet management and planning.
  • Generate and maintain status reports relevant to fleet management.
  • Undertake additional tasks as requested by TSC and RSAF management.
  • Assist with providing structured On-the-Job training for RSAF and/or Saudi National fleet management staff, including training, coaching, work experience, and mentoring.

Qualifications and Experience

  • A minimum of 2-5 years of experience in a relevant field.
  • Demonstrated ability to perform fleet management and planning tasks.
  • Experience with maintenance scheduling and compliance monitoring.
  • Proficiency in data analysis and report generation.

Work Environment

This full-time position is based at the Typhoon Support Centre (TSC) in Taif, KSA. The role involves working within a dedicated team focused on maintaining the RSAF Typhoon fleet and contributing to the broader objectives of BAE Systems Saudi Arabia.
