About the Role

BAE Systems Saudi Arabia is seeking a Maintenance Support Team Leader to ensure the delivery of Operations Support Services to Royal Saudi Air Force (RSAF) squadrons. This full-time position is based in Taif and offers competitive compensation. The role is integral to BAE Systems' commitment to supporting the Saudi Arabian National Agenda, including Saudisation and the development of national capability.

Role Overview

The Maintenance Support Team Leader is responsible for the day-to-day service delivery of engineering support to RSAF squadrons, specifically for the Salam Squadron's operations. This role involves deputising for the Operations Manager and providing on-base line management for aircraft support workshops and maintenance planning activities across three squadrons.

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide Operations and Engineering Support to all 3 RSAF Squadrons, acting as deputy for the Operations Manager when required.
  • Manage aircraft support workshops and oversee aircraft maintenance planning and control activities across all squadrons.
  • Liaise with various internal and external stakeholders, including customers and suppliers, from Director level downwards.
  • Produce regular manpower and ad-hoc organisational reports, focusing on recruitment, RSAF Consolidation, Saudisation, and related manpower issues.
  • Assist the Typhoon Operations Manager in gathering data for Flight Operations reporting to support key performance indicators for the Annex B to Typhoon LOA 2 SoW, including flying hours achievement and operational readiness.
  • Support T&E and Life Support in the programmed delivery and acceptance of EIS upgrades as agreed with the RSAF customer, collaborating with key business partners.
  • Provide local support to UK capability delivery teams, engage with the RSAF, and ensure adherence to Salam entry into service (EIS).

Required Qualifications and Experience

  • A recognised qualification to NVQ3/ONC/OND/BTEC level in a relevant technical discipline, or a technical apprenticeship, or Engineering Discipline, or a suitable equivalent technical qualification acceptable to M&CA.
  • Alternatively, a Part 66 license (current or lapsed), or a suitable equivalent technical license acceptable to M&CA.
  • Saudi Engineering Council (SEC) Registration.
  • Extensive post-qualification practical maintenance experience within an operational flying aircraft environment, supported by formal recorded workplace applied related training, OR 7 years on the same aircraft type.
  • Substantial management experience of military aircraft maintenance.
  • Awareness level of knowledge of the aircraft types managed, Fleet Planning skills, and EASA/M&CA Part 145.
  • Practitioner level of knowledge of the operations environment and of maintenance performed in workshops.
  • Practitioner level of operations’ management skills and experience of aviation support services.

Desirable Qualifications

  • NVQ5/BTEC/HND or Degree in a relevant technical discipline, acceptable to M&CA.
  • Incorporated or Technician Engineer with an appropriate professional institute such as the Royal Aeronautical Society or Institute of Engineering & Technology.
  • Knowledge of BAE Systems Saudi Arabia and the Royal Saudi Air Force.
  • Broad aerospace and defence company/industry knowledge.
