The Ar Rjum Project

The Ar Rjum Project is a greenfield gold project located in the Central Arabian Gold Region, approximately 200 km north-east of Taif, Saudi Arabia, within the Makkah region. This significant undertaking includes three open pit mining operations, a processing plant, tailings management facilities, and comprehensive supporting infrastructure. The project also encompasses accommodation facilities designed for a construction workforce of approximately 5000 employees.

Role Overview: Workforce Services Representative

Bechtel is seeking a Workforce Services Representative for the Ar Rjum Project. This full-time role is crucial for supporting the establishment and execution of all Workforce Services systems, processes, and compliance requirements for the project. The primary focus is to ensure the welfare and conditions provided to the construction workforce are consistent with Saudi Arabian regulatory and project requirements. The role involves subcontractor workforce oversight in an EPCM environment, ensuring compliance with labor legislation, contractual obligations, workforce welfare standards, accommodation, transportation, and mobilization requirements. The Workforce Services Representative will collaborate closely with Project Leadership, Regional and Global Workforce Services leadership, subcontractors, and service providers to support schedule reliability, workforce stability, and positive workforce relations.

Key Responsibilities

  • Support the establishment, implementation, and management of all Workforce Services systems, procedures, and compliance frameworks for the Ar Rjum Project.
  • Provide leadership and direction to Project Contractors teams in line with approved planning and project phase requirements.
  • Oversee subcontractor workforce compliance with labor laws, contractual obligations, workforce welfare standards, and Project requirements.
  • Support workforce mobilization, onboarding, access approvals, and demobilization processes in coordination with subcontractors and Project stakeholders.
  • Maintain and audit workforce-related documentation, records, and reporting to ensure transparency and compliance.
  • Support positive workforce and labor relations through proactive engagement, issue resolution, and alignment with Workforce Services leadership.
  • Support sub-functions of Workforce Services on the Project, including Camp/Accommodation services, contractor workforce oversight, workforce mobilization, and performance management.
  • Coordinate closely with Construction, ES&H, Security, and Project HR to ensure integrated workforce delivery.

Working Conditions

This full-time position requires residence at the Ar Rjum Project accommodation facility (camp). Periodic regional travel may be necessary to support project and business needs.

Required Experience

Candidates for this role should possess 0-1 years of relevant experience. A foundational understanding of labor legislation, contractual obligations, and workforce welfare standards is beneficial. The ability to work collaboratively with various stakeholders and maintain meticulous documentation is essential for success in this role.
