About the Role: Associate Program Coordinator (Medical ICU Unit Manager)

Johns Hopkins Aramco Healthcare (JHAH) is seeking an Associate Program Coordinator to serve as a Medical ICU Unit Manager in Dhahran. This full-time role involves providing clinical direction and leadership for an assigned Nursing and Clinical Services Division/Department, with overall 24-hour responsibility for its activities. The incumbent will develop department goals, evidenced-based patient care practices, policies, and procedures within a cost-effective environment, while collaborating on budgeting and quality management.

Key Responsibilities

• Provide clinical direction and leadership for the assigned Nursing and Clinical Services Division/Department.
• Coordinate and manage all activities of the assigned division/department, assuming overall 24-hour responsibility.
• Develop department goals, objectives, evidenced-based patient care practices, policies, and procedures.
• Collaborate with managers to provide organizational guidance, prepare, and monitor budgeting and quality management initiatives.
• Forecast nursing and clinical services patient care needs and evaluate patient care systems/programs.
• Manage direct reports effectively, delegating tasks and holding them accountable for specific objectives and targets.
• Provide leadership, supervision, functional guidance, and developmental activities for nursing and clinical services managers.
• Ensure adherence to personnel policies for performance issues and seek specialist advice when required.
• Promote a positive work environment conducive to productive, collegial relations among healthcare team members.
• Identify manpower requirements and participate in the recruitment and selection process to build talent.
• Work with senior management to implement key initiatives and manage change within the team.
• Take responsibility for the clinical education and professional development of the division/department staff.
• Conduct meetings with managers to communicate information, address quality issues, and problem-solve.
• Support and monitor Key Performance Indicators (KPIs), Quality Improvement, and Risk Management interventions.
• Develop and implement effective educational programs for staff development.
• Perform annual appraisals for managers/assigned staff and review appraisals of all staff.
• Participate in multidisciplinary committees and lead Nursing & Clinical Services Division/Department committees.
• Maintain 24-hour accountability for problem-solving and monitor staff utilization.
• Responsible for manpower budget and financial planning for the area.
• Develop and monitor division/department operational performance metrics, including Length of Stay (LOS), overtime costs, vacancy, and turnover rates.
• Ensure compliance with all regulatory and professional standards of care, including CBAHI, JCI, and IHI.
• Implement corrective action plans to embed quality of care into clinical practice and promote the Quality Improvement (QI) program.
• Assess and forecast department resource needs, allocating resources and budgets to meet objectives.
• Direct and implement revenue-enhancing and/or cost-reduction measures.

Qualifications and Experience

• Candidates should possess 9 years of relevant experience.
• Demonstrated leadership and management capabilities within a clinical setting.
• Strong understanding of nursing and clinical practice developments and trends.
• Ability to interpret and implement Johns Hopkins Aramco Healthcare, Nursing and Clinical Services policies.
• Proficiency in administrative and fiscal management.

Internal and External Contacts

The role involves daily internal contact with JHAH Human Resources, Nursing & Clinical Services Managers, and other JHAH healthcare personnel. Frequent external contact will be maintained with departments responsible for employee, patient, and family concerns, such as JHAH HR and JHAH Government Affairs.

Work Environment

This is a full-time position based in Dhahran, within a dynamic healthcare environment focused on patient care and continuous improvement. The role requires active participation in multidisciplinary teams and committees, contributing to the overall strategic direction of Nursing & Clinical Services.
