The Opportunity: Electrical Maintenance Supervisor

BAE Systems Saudi Arabia is seeking an Electrical Maintenance Supervisor to join its team in Dhahran. This full-time role is critical for ensuring aircraft readiness for the RSAF customer, operating within a demanding yet rewarding environment. The position requires 2-5 years of relevant experience and offers a competitive salary. The supervisor will play a key role in aircraft generation and will interface with various departments and organisations, including Supply, Workshops, Quality, Product Safety, and MODSAP.

Key Responsibilities

• Provide first-stage, mandatory, and independent certification for tasks completed by Maintenance Team Technicians, including Red-X clearance, as required.
• Plan and coordinate scheduled maintenance activities, both on and off aircraft, to meet the aircraft maintenance programme and RSAF operational requirements.
• Ensure all work adheres to approved data, standards, and procedures detailed within the Maintenance Organisation Exposition (MOE).
• Prioritise tasks in alignment with the shop and aircraft schedule.
• Monitor progress against the programme and provide daily updates via agreed IT applications and verbal briefs.
• Highlight potential issues impacting the aircraft programme to the Team Leader or Maintenance Manager.
• Ensure timely and accurate information submission for Aircraft Engineering Statements (AES), Defect Data Reports (DDR), and Technical Queries.
• Minimise overtime requirements through effective planning and the use of flexi-time.
• Verify that supervised personnel possess the necessary knowledge and skills for assigned tasks.
• Provide direct supervision to personnel to maintain quality standards.
• Ensure strict tool control is implemented according to established procedures.
• Investigate and report on technical issues and accident/incident events.
• Plan shift patterns to ensure effective manpower utilisation.
• Prepare for and cooperate with all internal and external audits.
• Ensure sound maintenance practices and documentation procedures are consistently followed.
• Confirm all personnel are authorised and certified to accomplish delegated tasks.
• Ascertain that pre-use checks are conducted on equipment used in supervised tasks.
• Provide on-the-job theoretical and practical training.
• Assess the competency of team personnel and report any deficiencies to the Team Leader or Maintenance Manager.
• Certify personnel for specific tasks when certified as a ‘Work Place Trainer’.
• Ensure accurate demands for replacement components/parts are placed promptly.
• Accurately record required-by and impact dates for demands.
• Monitor forecast dates for demands against the project plan and place critical items on the ‘critical list’ if likely to impact the programme.
• Verify the availability of serviceable and calibrated test equipment for planned tasks, informing the Operations Team Leader if unavailable.
• Establish and maintain positive relations with internal and external customers.
• Possess the ability to tow aircraft and supervise an aircraft towing team.
• Hold a 2nd signature authorisation.

Required Qualifications and Experience

• Extensive post-qualification practical maintenance experience within an operational flying aircraft environment, supported by formal recorded workplace applied related training.
• Alternatively, 3 years of experience in Tornado Avionics/Electrical system testing.
• Relevant type training (‘Q’ Course) and equipment-specific training, if required.
• Proven ability to supervise engineering personnel at all levels.
• Successful candidates, whether Saudi or Expatriate, must obtain Saudi Council of Engineers (SCE) membership at the appropriate level prior to commencing employment in KSA or starting this role. SCE membership must be maintained throughout employment.

These include Supply, Workshops, Quality, Product Safety, and MODSAP, all contributing to the critical mission of generating aircraft for the Royal Saudi Air Force.
