About the Electrical Maintenance Engineering Supervisor Role

Saudi Aramco Total Refining and Petrochemical Company (SATORP) is seeking an experienced Electrical Maintenance Engineering Supervisor to join its team in Al Jubail, Eastern region. This full-time position is central to the implementation of the Power Systems maintenance strategy, leading a dedicated team of Electrical Maintenance Engineers, QA/QC Engineers, and Planners.

Role Purpose and Strategic Contribution

The Electrical Maintenance Engineering Supervisor plays a critical role in ensuring high plant availability and equipment integrity across the facility. This involves providing expert technical guidance and support for the maintenance of a wide range of electrical equipment, contributing directly to operational reliability and safety standards within the petrochemical industry.

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide technical guidance and support to electrical maintenance teams and other departments for the maintenance of all electrical equipment, including steam turbine generators, emergency diesel generators, transformers, 480V to 230kV switchgear, UPS and battery chargers, HV and LV VSD, and motors.
  • Mentor and guide electrical maintenance personnel and contractors in the execution of electrical maintenance, and lead personnel qualification, certification, and accreditation initiatives.
  • Ensure good documentation practices, including updating all equipment technical records and drawings to reflect the latest changes, uploading maintenance history and PM reports, and documenting, archiving, and backing up configuration and software changes to electrical equipment.
  • Act as the department's Safety Champion by fostering a safety culture and embedding safety measures in all electrical equipment, procedures, and tasks.
  • Prepare regular reports on electrical system performance, maintenance KPIs, and departmental metrics.
  • Prepare job specifications and costing for outsourced maintenance activities, technically evaluate vendors and contractors, participate in contracts review, and identify opportunities for contracts optimization.
  • Propose and implement innovative ideas to improve productivity (Wrench Time), efficiency, sustainability, and digitalization through analyzing and evaluating maintenance KPI data.
  • Lead incident investigations, RCAs, and analyze CM work orders to identify the true causes of defects.
  • Constantly engage with Area Maintenance Foremen, original equipment manufacturers, and vendors to modify maintenance Work Instructions as recommended/required by Field Maintenance personnel.
  • Review electrical maintenance plans, highlight potential constraints for PM job execution, review PM deferment requests, and participate in Turnaround scope development.
  • Witness the commissioning and testing of electrical equipment and lead electrical site functional tests and sign-off.
  • Participate in Pre-Startup Safety Reviews (PSSR), substations energization, and handover.

Qualifications and Experience

  • A minimum of 10 years of relevant experience in Maintenance within oil & gas, petrochemical, or related industries.
  • At least 3-5 years of this experience must be in a supervisory role.

This is a full-time position based at SATORP's facilities in Al Jubail, Eastern region. The role involves working within a dynamic industrial environment, overseeing critical electrical maintenance operations and leading a technical team.
