The Role of Senior Project Engineer

ETAP Software is seeking a Senior Project Engineer to join its team in Dhahran, Saudi Arabia. This full-time role requires 5-10 years of experience and involves site commissioning, project engineering, and serving as a technical lead. The Senior Project Engineer will perform site acceptance tests, prepare site reports, and conduct communication point-to-point testing with various electrical equipment using standard communication protocols. Additionally, the role includes performing SCADA and PPC/MGC application testing and demonstrations.

Key Responsibilities

• Serve as a Power System Expert in electrical Protection and Control Systems, with technical knowledge of multiple communication protocols such as Modbus, IEC 61850, DNP, and IEC 60870-50-104.
• Monitor and distribute site teamwork progress according to the customer commissioning schedule.
• Develop, implement, test, and troubleshoot communication systems, utilizing experience in IP networking, UDP/TCP/IP, switching and routing, firewalls, gateways, and GPRS/EDGE/3G/4G modems.
• Coordinate and execute Site Acceptance Tests (SATs), provide validation support and customer training, and ensure compliance with project requirements.
• Conduct and supervise field installation of new or retrofit equipment and prepare instructional installation documents for clients and project teams.
• Implement and design SCADA software as per customer specifications, including testing and troubleshooting SCADA software applications.
• Prepare, coordinate, and execute Factory Acceptance Tests (FATs) and SATs, along with commissioning SCADA/PPC/MGC/SPM systems to client satisfaction, providing on-site customer training.
• Perform strategic planning and analysis for short-term and long-term project commissioning, with experience in SCADA and PPC commissioning in the renewable energy field.
• Demonstrate knowledge of Renewable SCADA Solar Performance Monitoring Systems, Weather Monitoring Systems, and forecasting systems for both small and long-term forecasts.
• Act as a Site Engineer for meetings and coordination with equipment suppliers and clients, including schedule and report preparation, and work alignment with the Site Engineer Team.

Qualifications and Requirements

• Graduate in Instrument/Electronic & Telecommunication/Electrical Engineering or equivalent.
• Minimum of 8-10 years of working experience in Renewable Solar SCADA and Oil & Gas sectors.
• Demonstrated knowledge of Site Commissioning.
