About the Role

Airbus ** is seeking a Mass Properties Mechanical Engineer for a contract position in Al Qatif. This role involves performing detailed estimating and analysis tasks to support aircraft weight and balance impacts. The position requires 2-5 years of experience and is offered on a contract basis.

Role Overview

Engineers at Airbus work on complex, highly engineered machines throughout the aircraft lifecycle, from development to manufacturing and customer support. This role contributes to connecting the world by designing, creating, and testing current and future Airbus products. The Engineering Center in Mobile, Alabama, houses engineers who contribute to the design and development of commercial aircraft cabins, including aftermarket upgrades and reconfigurations.

Key Responsibilities

  • Establish and support control methods for weight and balance of in-process and completed assemblies and installations.
  • Support actual weight and balance of aircraft, interfacing directly with various organizations within completions.
  • Track and maintain all mass properties information and support the maturation of internal processes.
  • Solve typical engineering problems within the assigned discipline.
  • Provide technical assistance to engineering staff and contribute to project milestones.
  • Manage complex engineering assignments or full projects of lesser complexity.
  • Follow established schedules and develop plans for engineering assignments.
  • Obtain supervisor approvals for work accuracy and adequacy.
  • Act as a liaison with other departments, both internally and internationally.
  • Actively work to improve daily processes and ensure work meets customer requirements.
  • Maintain current knowledge of technical principles, theories, and concepts in assigned fields.
  • Lead digitalization improvement projects within engineering teams, developing methods to automate work and processes.
  • Participate in activities to utilize AI in daily work and processes.
  • Participate in group activities with Global Airbus to align with global processes and digitalization.

Qualifications and Experience

  • Bachelor of Science (BS) Degree in Engineering (Aero, Civil, Mechanical, Electrical).
  • Minimum of three (3) years of experience in aircraft compliance.
  • Ability to write reports, technical memorandums, interface agreements, and work statements in high-level technical English.
  • Clear and in-depth knowledge of Aircraft Mass Properties and flight physics calculations and analysis.
  • Proficiency in the English language.
  • Ability to communicate effectively in an international setting to resolve problems, facilitate consensus, and focus on objectives.
  • Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings, bills of material, compliance documentation, and technical documentation.
  • Proficiency in Google Suites Products.
  • Authorized to Work in the US.

Technical Skills and Problem Solving

Candidates will apply knowledge to provide solutions to a variety of technical problems of moderate scope and complexity, using a combination of judgment with defined practices and procedures. Work is performed under general supervision for routine tasks of minor complexity. With supervision/mentorship, the engineer can coordinate the activities for lower-level engineering staff. Information from the contact network will be used to problem-solve and secure aircraft delivery and development.
