About the Role

Le Méridien Hotels & Resorts is seeking a Baker Lead to join their team in Medina, Al Madinah. This full-time role involves overseeing the preparation of a variety of baked goods, ensuring adherence to quality and safety standards, and supporting kitchen management. The position requires 2-5 years of relevant experience.

Key Responsibilities

Prepare breads and pastries, including doughs, fillings, proofing, baking, and decorating.
Review production sheets to understand daily baked goods requirements.
Cook and prepare food according to established recipes, quality standards, and presentation guidelines.
Maintain kitchen logs for compliance with food safety programs.
Inform the Chef of excess food items for daily special planning.
Utilize baking and measuring tools, equipment, and appliances safely and appropriately.
Ensure compliance with food safety handling policies and procedures, including personal hygiene.
Monitor and ensure correct temperatures of kitchen appliances and food, reporting issues to management.
Oversee the quality of food prepared and portions served throughout the shift.

Leadership and Operational Support

Assist management with hiring, training, scheduling, evaluating, counseling, disciplining, motivating, and coaching employees.
Serve as a role model and mentor within the department.
Adhere to all company policies and procedures, including safety and security protocols.
Report accidents, injuries, and unsafe work conditions to management.
Complete all required safety training and certifications.
Maintain a clean and professional uniform and personal appearance.
Maintain confidentiality of proprietary information and protect company assets.
Communicate professionally and answer telephones with appropriate etiquette.
Develop and maintain positive working relationships and support team goals.
Handle sensitive issues with tact, respect, and confidentiality.
Comply with quality expectations and standards.

Physical Requirements

Ability to move, lift, carry, push, pull, and place objects weighing up to 25 pounds without assistance.
Capability to move over sloping, uneven, or slippery surfaces.
Reach overhead and below the knees, including bending, twisting, pulling, and stooping.
Stand, sit, or walk for extended periods.
