About the Role

Sheraton Hotels & Resorts is seeking a Director of Sales & Marketing B to lead the property's sales department in Medina, Al Madinah. This full-time role is for properties with bookings exceeding 300 peak rooms and significant local catering revenue. The Director will manage both reactive and proactive sales efforts, providing day-to-day leadership to sales associates to achieve property sales objectives and overall booking goals.

Key Responsibilities

• Manage the development of strategic account plans for demand generators in the market.
• Oversee reactive and proactive sales efforts, determining and developing marketing communication activities in conjunction with Regional Marketing Communications.
• Provide customer intelligence by evaluating market and economic trends to adjust sales strategies.
• Review STAR reports and competitive shopping reports to maintain awareness of the hotel’s market position.
• Research competitor sales strategies to identify opportunities for growth in occupancy, RevPAR, and market share.
• Attend sales strategy meetings, providing input on weekly and overall sales strategy.
• Serve as the primary sales contact for the General Manager, property leadership team, Group Sales, Area Sales leaders, and customers.
• Execute and support Marriott’s Customer Service Standards and hotel’s Brand Standards.
• Implement a seamless turnover process from sales to operations and back to sales, ensuring high service levels.
• Monitor the resolution of guest issues arising from the sales process.
• Manage the marketing budget for property-specific campaigns, promotions, and collateral.
• Interface with regional marketing communications for regional and national promotions.

Relationship Management

• Develop strong partnerships with local organizations to enhance brand and product awareness.
• Manage internal key stakeholder relationships effectively.
• Cultivate community and public relations through property participation in local, regional, and national tradeshows and client events.
• Ensure exemplary customer service to drive satisfaction and loyalty by understanding customer needs and recommending appropriate features and services.

Leadership and Team Development

• Develop sales goals and strategies, ensuring alignment with the brand business strategy.
• Execute sales strategies to meet individual and team booking goals.
• Coach leaders of revenue-generating departments in developing effective revenue strategies and setting aggressive goals.
• Ensure the sales team leverages Marriott International demand engines to their full potential.
• Partner with Human Resources to attract, develop, and retain talent, supporting strategic priorities.
• Set goals and expectations for direct reports using the Leadership Performance Process (LPP), aligning performance and rewards.
• Identify, train, and mentor group sales associates, utilizing available on-the-job training tools.
• Provide day-to-day leadership to sales associates to achieve property sales objectives.

Qualifications and Experience

• Experience: 2-5 years in a relevant sales and marketing leadership role.
• Demonstrated ability to manage sales departments for properties with significant booking volumes and catering revenue.
• Proficiency in developing and implementing property-wide strategies to meet customer expectations and deliver a return on investment.
• Strong understanding of sales processes, contracts, and market positioning.
