About SLS The Red Sea

SLS The Red Sea is a resort located on the Red Sea coast in Umluj, Tabuk, Saudi Arabia. As part of Ennismore’s portfolio, the resort features 150 rooms, five Food & Beverage venues, and a spa. It operates as a lifestyle destination within Saudi Arabia.

The Head Barista Role

The Head Barista leads the specialty coffee and beverage program at SLS The Red Sea. This role involves overseeing daily operations, managing a beverage team, and ensuring the delivery of high-quality coffee and other crafted beverages. The Head Barista works with the Restaurant/Outlet leadership team to maintain operational standards and enhance the guest beverage experience.

Key Responsibilities

Lead daily coffee and beverage operations, ensuring efficient service and a clean environment.
Maintain a visible presence during service, engaging with guests and tailoring experiences.
Ensure all coffee and beverage orders meet SLS quality, recipe, and presentation standards.
Lead the preparation and development of specialty coffee, espresso-based beverages, signature drinks, and seasonal creations.
Stay informed about specialty coffee trends, brewing methods, beverage innovation, and preparation techniques.
Maintain mise-en-place, including coffee beans, fresh ingredients, garnishes, and equipment.
Ensure proper maintenance and cleaning of coffee machines, grinders, and beverage preparation tools.
Supervise, motivate, and develop the beverage team to maintain performance and accountability.
Conduct briefings, training sessions, and coaching on coffee knowledge, preparation skills, and guest interaction.
Ensure team members adhere to SLS grooming, service, hygiene, and behavioral standards.
Coordinate team scheduling for operational coverage and effective labor management.
Manage coffee and beverage inventory, stock requisitions, ordering, storage, and daily procedures, minimizing wastage.
Conduct regular inventory counts, maintain accurate records, and support cost-control practices.
Ensure POS transactions, cash handling, and billing procedures comply with hotel policies.
Handle guest feedback and concerns professionally, escalating to management when necessary.
Build guest loyalty through personalized coffee and beverage recommendations.
Collaborate with Restaurant/Outlet leadership, Culinary, and Marketing teams for promotions, events, and beverage activations.
Support special events and creative beverage experiences to enhance guest engagement and revenue.
Ensure full compliance with food safety, hygiene, health and safety requirements, company policies, and Saudi Arabian regulations.

Qualifications and Experience

A minimum of 2-3 years of experience in a barista or beverage leadership role.
Demonstrated knowledge of specialty coffee, brewing methods, and beverage preparation techniques.
Experience in team supervision, training, and operational management within a hospitality setting.

Work Environment

This is a full-time position based at SLS The Red Sea resort in Umluj, Tabuk, Saudi Arabia. The role involves leading a dedicated beverage team within a dynamic hospitality environment.
