About the Role
InterContinental Hotels Group is seeking a Laundry Supervisor for the Six Senses Southern Dunes Red Sea property. This full-time position requires a candidate with a minimum of 5 years of experience in a related field. The Laundry Supervisor will play a key role in upholding the Six Senses vision and values, ensuring exceptional guest experiences and supporting the development of hosts.
Role Context and Vision
As a Laundry Supervisor, you will embody the Six Senses vision of helping guests reconnect with themselves, others, and the world. This involves embracing values such as local and global sensibility, crafted experiences, emotional hospitality, responsibility, care, fun, quirkiness, and pioneering wellness. You will actively participate in wellness activities and safeguard the resort's wellness philosophy. Sustainability is central to Six Senses, and you will ensure adherence to directives on environmental protection, re-usage, waste minimization, and responsible purchasing and packaging, maintaining a harmonious approach to the environment and cultural surroundings.
Key Responsibilities
- Support the Laundry Manager in rejuvenating the room experience by assessing room amenities, services, and products for relevance to Six Senses wellness and sustainability practices.
- Collaborate with other departments to meet guest needs and oversee the smooth operation of guest arrivals.
- Administer all laundry operations and facilities, ensuring a secure environment for all hosts.
- Participate in and monitor the linen inventory process.
- Maintain a high standard of personal appearance, grooming, and hygiene, along with comprehensive knowledge of safety, security, and emergency procedures for yourself and all hosts.
- Handle and assist in department training and orientation for new hosts and conduct regular training for Housekeeping hosts to improve job performance and meet service standards.
- Demonstrate task performance to Housekeeping hosts according to hotel service standards.
- Maintain effective communication with other departments for smooth housekeeping operations.
- Monitor daily arrivals in coordination with Laundry and Housekeeping management to determine task allocation.
- Supervise and inspect the work of Housekeeping hosts, ensuring high standards of order, hygiene, sanitation, cleanliness, and aesthetic value.
- Ensure room amenities and food amenities are placed according to standard operating procedures during room inspections.
- Ensure Housekeeping hosts have the necessary tools and equipment.
- Administer schedules to ensure adequate manpower coverage and minimize overtime payments.
- Remove items requiring repair, replacement, or cleaning.
- Inspect corridors and service areas for order and cleanliness.
- Monitor assigned areas and report irregularities to the Security department.
- Ensure all lost and found items are labeled, recorded, and stored.
- Issue and control room key availability.
- Respond to guest requests and handle issues and feedback related to Housekeeping.
- Monitor and schedule regular deep cleaning projects.
- Ensure Housekeeping office and storage facilities are kept in good condition.
- Maintain stock levels of materials, equipment, and supplies, and make requisitions as needed.
- Ensure all equipment and machinery is cleaned, maintained, and stored correctly.
- Control inventory of all stock items, including linen and cleaning agents.
- Control expenses and minimize waste within all areas of Housekeeping.
- Assist with performance reviews of Housekeeping hosts and prepare guidelines for improvement.
- Report any health or safety hazards to Housekeeping management.
- Provide assistance to guests during hotel emergency evacuation and medical procedures.
- Ensure all Housekeeping hosts perform duties in accordance with hotel guidelines.
- Ensure the privacy of guests and use confidential information only to perform job duties.
- Ensure all department equipment is kept clean and in good working condition.
- Upsell all resort facilities and activities.
- Attend meetings and training as required.
- Adhere strictly to LQA standards.
- Perform any additional tasks assigned by supervisor/management.
Qualifications and Requirements
The ideal candidate will possess the following:
- A minimum of 5 years of experience in a relevant role.
- Thorough knowledge of all resort facilities and services, including room types.
- Comprehensive knowledge of safety, security, and emergency procedures.
- Understanding and adherence to LQA standards.

This is a full-time position at the Six Senses Southern Dunes Red Sea. You will be expected to behave professionally, set an example for all hosts, and abide by Six Senses principles and core values.
