About the Quality Controller Role

Catrion Group is seeking a dedicated Quality Controller to join our team in Umluj, specifically within the Red Sea Projects. This full-time role is crucial for monitoring food Safety & Quality Assurance (FSQA) across the unit and its associated outlets. The Quality Controller will supervise and control production and operation activities, reporting directly to the Site Manager, and will be instrumental in maintaining and continually improving the Safety Management System (SMS).

Key Responsibilities

• Monitor all food Safety & Quality Assurance activities within the department and meticulously maintain all related records.
• Coordinate with the Site Manager to resolve food Safety & Quality Assurance issues and discuss the yearly department budget.
• Train and evaluate new Quality Control staff, submitting reports to the Site Manager.
• Coordinate with various sections of the unit to address food Safety & Quality Assurance issues based on Daily Hygiene Reports.
• Monitor and maintain pest control activities performed by the pest control contractor.
• Ensure regular laboratory activities, including drawing samples (food, water, handprints, cleaning control), are conducted by on-duty Quality Controllers.
• Investigate customer complaints with respective departments, providing comprehensive feedback and corrective actions to the Section Head.
• Provide new hire training, refresher training, and on-job training for all food handlers according to the established schedule.
• Liaise with the medical department for food handler’s certificates, staff post-vacation clearance, and staff infection control.
• Carry out follow-up hygiene inspections of supplier’s premises and outlets as assigned.
• Prepare the roster to ensure 24-hour coverage of food Safety & Quality Assurance activities.
• Ensure optimum use of stationary, printing, office supplies, and lab chemicals.
• Complete any other related tasks assigned by the Site Manager, and act as Site Manager during their absence (during delegation period).

Safety Management Duties

• Conduct safety inspections and prepare detailed reports.
• Conduct safety-related training needs assessments in the workplace and deliver on-job training, Toolbox Talks (TBT), and safety brief awareness sessions.
• Maintain awareness of active and developing safety situations.
• Assist the accident investigation team as required.
• Inspect the site regularly to ensure a hazard-free environment.
• Verify that all tools and equipment are adequate and safe for use.
• Promote safe practices consistently at the job site.

Required Qualifications

• Education: Bachelor's Degree or Higher Diploma.
• Experience: A minimum of 4 years of relevant experience in quality control or food safety.
