About the Role

A warm and welcoming private family household in Guernsey, Channel Islands, is seeking an experienced, professional Childfriendly Housekeeper to join their home. This is a full-time position for an individual who takes pride in maintaining a beautifully run household and enjoys working within a family environment. The role offers a competitive salary, and accommodation may be provided.

Key Responsibilities

Perform daily cleaning and upkeep of the home, including deep cleaning tasks.
Manage all laundry, ironing, and wardrobe organisation.
Execute daily bed making and weekly linen and towel changes.
Maintain high standards of cleanliness and presentation throughout the household.
Prepare family meals and/or children's meals, followed by kitchen clean-up and organisation.
Conduct occasional grocery shopping or errands at local shops.
Ensure cupboards, fridge, and freezer are consistently organised.
Clean the external terrace, perform ground floor window cleaning, and clean the family car and boat.
Undertake additional duties necessary to maintain a clean, tidy, and organised home.
Provide occasional pet care, specifically feeding a small, friendly dog.
Offer occasional childcare or supervision when required, including occasional babysitting.
Assist with occasional dinner parties.
Be available for potential travel to family properties in London, Sweden, and Greece.

Candidate Profile

The ideal candidate will be organised, proactive, and discreet, with the ability to work comfortably and effectively independently. The household includes two working adults (aged 40s/50s), two girls (aged 4 and 7, both attending school from 8 AM to 3 PM), and one small, friendly dog. The role requires a professional who enjoys supporting a busy family while upholding high household standards.

Working Schedule and Environment

This is a full-time position, operating five days per week, Monday to Friday, from 9:00 AM to 5:00 PM. Flexibility in working hours is required. The Housekeeper will work independently within the household and coordinate with a part-time nanny who handles afternoon school runs and after-school activities. The environment is characterised by a warm family atmosphere, with a more formal tone adopted when entertaining guests.
