Senior Architecture Engineer Buildings & Finishes

About the Role

Khatib & Alami is seeking a Senior Architecture Engineer – Buildings & Finishes to join their team in Jeddah, Western Province. This full-time role involves overseeing architectural designs, technical drawings, specifications, and finishing works throughout the project lifecycle. The Senior Architecture Engineer ensures compliance with approved designs, project requirements, building codes, and quality standards.

Role Purpose

The primary purpose of this role is to coordinate with multidisciplinary teams, review shop drawings and material submittals, conduct site inspections, and resolve technical issues. The position provides guidance to project teams and contractors to maintain the quality, functionality, and aesthetic integrity of building and finishing works.

Key Responsibilities

• Develop and review architectural drawings, specifications, material schedules, and finishing details for building projects.
• Coordinate architectural designs with structural, MEP, and other engineering disciplines to resolve technical conflicts and ensure design integration.
• Review and approve shop drawings, material submittals, samples, mock-ups, and method statements related to architectural and finishing works.
• Monitor the implementation of architectural works, including flooring, ceilings, partitions, doors, windows, wall finishes, façades, and other building elements.
• Conduct site inspections to verify compliance with approved drawings, specifications, quality standards, and project requirements.
• Identify design discrepancies, technical issues, and non-conformities, and recommend appropriate corrective actions.
• Provide technical guidance to project teams, contractors, and junior engineers on architectural design and finishing-related matters.
• Ensure compliance with applicable building codes, accessibility requirements, fire safety regulations, and relevant standards.
• Participate in technical meetings, design reviews, progress assessments, and coordination workshops.
• Support the preparation of technical reports, snagging lists, inspection records, and project closeout documentation.
• Monitor the quality of materials and workmanship and ensure that approved finishes meet the required performance and aesthetic standards.
• Coordinate with clients, consultants, and contractors to resolve architectural and finishing issues throughout the project lifecycle.

Qualifications and Experience

• A minimum of 10 years of experience in architecture engineering, specifically in buildings and finishes.
• Demonstrated ability to develop, review, and coordinate architectural designs and specifications.
• Strong understanding of applicable building codes, quality standards, and project requirements.

Work Environment

This is a full-time position based in Jeddah, Western Province, requiring active participation in site inspections and coordination meetings with various stakeholders.
