About the Opportunity

WSP in the Middle East is seeking a highly experienced Senior Structural Engineer to join its Construction Supervision team. This full-time position is based in Jeddah, Makkah, Saudi Arabia, and involves providing technical leadership on major building developments.

Role Purpose

The primary purpose of this role is to ensure that all structural works are executed in strict adherence to approved designs, project specifications, international standards, and local authority requirements. The Senior Structural Engineer will play a critical role in maintaining quality and compliance throughout the construction phase of significant projects.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead the supervision of structural works on large-scale building projects.
• Review and approve structural shop drawings, calculations, method statements, material submittals, and temporary works proposals.
• Ensure compliance with approved drawings, specifications, and relevant codes.
• Conduct regular site inspections and audits to monitor quality and progress.
• Coordinate with architects, MEP engineers, contractors, and client representatives.
• Review contractor requests for information (RFIs), inspections, and technical submissions.
• Identify non-conformances and ensure timely corrective actions are implemented.
• Support the Resident Engineer in progress monitoring, reporting, and technical issue resolution.
• Witness testing and commissioning activities relating to structural systems.
• Mentor and guide site inspectors and junior engineers.

Required Qualifications and Experience

Candidates must possess a strong background in structural engineering with a proven track record in construction supervision. A minimum of 5 to 10 years of relevant experience is required, specifically within major building developments.
