About the Role

Panda Retail Company – Savola Group is seeking a Legal Counsel, Contracts to join their team in Jiddah, Makkah, Saudi Arabia. This role is responsible for providing leadership in delivering reliable, accurate, timely, and well-informed legal advice to the department and executive leadership team. The Legal Counsel will address legal issues and assess the potential legal implications of various corporate strategies, business initiatives, and projects.

Key Responsibilities

  • Perform legal tasks to ensure all legal work aligns with Panda's and its subsidiaries' interests and required standards.
  • Provide general legal advice, support, and assistance, including legal opinions and research, on various legal issues such as disciplinary matters, contracts, associations, governance, risk management, and contentious matters related to daily business operations.
  • Review and amend company policies and regulations.
  • Review and draft various contracts and other legal documents.
  • Offer prompt and concise legal advice and specific solutions-driven support to all company departments.
  • Ensure excellent drafting, negotiation, and management of contracts with customers and suppliers in a timely and effective manner to achieve optimal outcomes for the company.
  • Manage one or more lawyers and/or other business affairs professionals.
  • Ensure compliance with all company policies and procedures, as well as relevant legislation and regulations, including anti-fraud, anti-corruption, and ethical guidelines.
  • Support the corporate team in relation to corporate transactions, including drafting and negotiation of supporting documentation and transaction management.
  • Drive continuous process improvement to enable effective operational processes.
  • Implement legally compliant best business practices and policies to protect the organization from regulatory and/or legal action.
  • Provide mentoring and supervision to less experienced legal staff.
  • Develop, implement, manage, and monitor legal team quality improvement processes and practices.
  • Assist on any matter and perform other duties as required from time to time.
  • Manage email correspondence.

Qualifications and Experience

  • Bachelor’s degree in Law.
  • Master's Degree in Law is preferred.
  • 0-1 year of relevant experience.

This is a contract position based in Jiddah, Makkah, Saudi Arabia.
