Purchasing Officer

About the Role

Jeddah Cables Company is seeking an experienced Purchasing Officer to manage the procurement of maintenance, repair, and operations (MRO) materials. This full-time position is based in Makkah, specifically covering operations in Jeddah and Makkah, and focuses on acquiring industrial spare parts, tools, and consumables essential for cable manufacturing.

Role Overview

The Purchasing Officer will be responsible for the end-to-end procurement process for MRO materials and industrial spare parts required for plant operations. This includes identifying suppliers, evaluating quotations, negotiating terms, and ensuring timely delivery to minimize production downtime.

Key Responsibilities

• Manage the complete purchasing cycle for MRO materials and industrial spare parts for plant operations.
• Source and identify suppliers for mechanical, electrical, hydraulic, pneumatic, and general maintenance items.
• Obtain and evaluate quotations based on price, quality, specifications, availability, and lead time.
• Negotiate with suppliers to secure competitive pricing and favorable payment and delivery terms.
• Prepare and process Purchase Orders (POs) and ensure their timely delivery.
• Follow up on urgent and critical spare parts to minimize potential production downtime.
• Identify alternative suppliers and equivalent parts to enhance availability and reduce procurement costs.
• Monitor pending orders, delivery schedules, potential shortages, and overall supplier performance.
• Maintain accurate purchasing records, supplier databases, Requests for Quotation (RFQs), quotations, and Purchase Orders (POs).

Qualifications and Experience

• Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain or a related field from a reputable university in Saudi Arabia.
• Minimum of 2-3 years of relevant experience in Saudi Arabia.
• Demonstrated experience in purchasing spare parts and tools.
• Experience working with industrial end-users.

Required Skills

• Strong understanding of MRO procurement processes.
• Negotiation and supplier management skills.
• Ability to evaluate technical specifications and quotations.
• Candidates with strong Saudi-market MRO procurement experience within a manufacturing or industrial environment will be given priority.

Work Environment

This is a full-time position based in Makkah, serving operations across Jeddah and Makkah. The role requires active engagement with plant operations and various suppliers to ensure efficient material flow.
