About the Commis I Role

Rotana Hotels is seeking a Commis I Saudi Talent to join our kitchen team in Makkah, Saudi Arabia. This full-time position is designed for individuals with 0-1 year of experience who are dedicated to culinary excellence. The Commis I is responsible for daily food preparation and assigned duties, ensuring adherence to established standards and quality.

Core Responsibilities

• Support the Chef de Partie or Demi Chef de Partie in daily kitchen operations.
• Execute food preparation according to menu specifications provided by the Chef de Partie.
• Maintain the work area in hygienic conditions, adhering to hotel standards.
• Monitor food stock levels and contribute to food cost control within the assigned section.
• Prepare daily mis-en-place and manage food production across various sections of the main kitchen or satellites.
• Follow instructions and recommendations from superiors to complete daily tasks efficiently.
• Ensure consistent quality in daily preparations and stay informed about new products, recipes, and techniques.
• Coordinate and participate with other sections regarding requirements, cleanliness, waste management, and cost control.

Qualifications and Experience

• Completion of a professional kitchen apprenticeship or a chef's training course.
• Previous experience in quality culinary establishments is required.
• Demonstrated knowledge of food preparation, presentation, and preservation techniques.
• This role is suitable for candidates with 0-1 year of relevant experience.
