Planning Engineer

About the Role

Larsen & Toubro is seeking a Planning Engineer to join their team. This full-time position is based in Makkah, with responsibilities spanning projects in Jeddah and Makkah. The role focuses on comprehensive project planning, scheduling, and control within an EPC environment.

Key Responsibilities in Planning and Scheduling

• Develop, maintain, and update detailed EPC project schedules utilizing Primavera P6.
• Prepare and manage baseline schedules, recovery schedules, and look-ahead plans.
• Monitor project progress against approved schedules and identify deviations.
• Perform critical path analysis and recommend corrective actions to mitigate delays.
• Forecast project completion dates and support project management in schedule-related decision-making.

Progress Monitoring and Reporting

• Monitor engineering, procurement, construction, testing, and commissioning activities.
• Prepare weekly and monthly progress reports for management and client submissions.
• Develop project dashboards, progress measurement systems, S-curves, and resource histograms.
• Track productivity, resource utilization, and key project performance indicators (KPIs).
• Maintain project planning records and reporting documentation.

Procurement and Manufacturing Coordination

• Monitor material procurement, manufacturing, inspection, shipment, and site delivery milestones.
• Forecast material requirements and coordinate manufacturing clearances in line with project schedules.
• Track vendor and subcontractor deliverables against contractual milestones.
• Support timely mobilization of suppliers and subcontractors.

Project Controls and Commercial Support

• Prepare cost summaries and mobilization estimates based on received quotations.
• Develop techno-commercial reports to monitor project financial performance and overall project health.
• Assist in cash flow forecasting, cost-to-complete monitoring, and project performance analysis.
• Support change management, delay analysis, and Extension of Time (EOT) evaluations when required.

Stakeholder Coordination

• Coordinate with engineering, procurement, construction, QA/QC, HSE, and commercial teams for schedule updates.
• Participate in progress review meetings with SEC, National Grid, subcontractors, and project stakeholders.
• Support project management in identifying risks and implementing mitigation measures.

Experience Required

Candidates should possess 5-10 years of relevant experience in planning engineering roles.
