About the Senior Accountant Role

Abdul Latif Jameel, a diversified business group with a significant presence in the MENAT region, is seeking a Senior Accountant for its operations in Makkah, specifically in Jeddah and Makkah cities. This full-time position requires 2-5 years of experience in a related field.

Purpose of the Position

The primary purpose of this role is to ensure the accuracy and adequacy of supporting documents for financial transactions. The Senior Accountant will coordinate with various finance departments to reconcile financial data in accordance with accepted accounting principles and standards. This position involves close supervision of daily operations and monthly reporting, with limited authority over daily operations concerning accounting standards.

Key Responsibilities

• Assist in the preparation of management accounts, fund flow statements, and the annual budget.
• Manage suspense accounts and report operational anomalies to Accounts Managers.
• Prepare collateral reports and bank entry sheets for various banks to reconcile statements and provide financial reports.
• Coordinate with external and internal auditors by providing necessary financial records and data.
• Oversee the monthly financial closing of accounts and analyze income-related accounts for fairness.
• Supervise Accountants and Cashiers in performing monthly cash reconciliations and balance sheet control.
• Review the preparation of final accounts and journal vouchers, scrutinizing ledger accounts for accuracy.
• Compile and collect financial data for corporate tax reporting to comply with government requirements.
• Mentor and develop subordinates through on-the-job training and performance monitoring.

Qualifications and Experience

• Bachelor's Degree in Accounting or equivalent.
• Minimum of 4 years of experience in a related field.
• Experience within the range of 2-5 years is required.

The position also has a direct impact on the accuracy of financial data provided to Auditors and Tax authorities.
