About the Senior Registrar ER Physician Role

National Medical Care Company (Care) is seeking a Senior Registrar ER Physician to join our team in Makkah, Saudi Arabia. This full-time role involves providing comprehensive care for both inpatient and outpatient individuals within the Emergency Room, maintaining a high level of professional performance under the supervision of the Consultant or Head of ER. The position requires strict adherence to professional medical ethics, established quality standards, and all applicable regulations.

Core Responsibilities

• Ensure superior quality medical treatment, compassion, and understanding for every patient.
• Provide patient care strictly within the parameters of professional competence and clinical privileges.
• Practice within the framework of clinically relevant and scientifically valid standards, guidelines, and criteria.
• Participate in the development and maintenance of medical contingency disaster plans.
• Maintain the quality of the triage system performed by the Emergency Room Nurse.
• Supervise the performance of assigned * physicians and junior staff within the unit.
• Observe and uphold patient rights concerning security, confidentiality, and privacy.

Clinical Practice and Patient Engagement

• Perform diagnostic and therapeutic procedures on patients within the range of the specialty as per privileges.
• Assess and refer appropriate patients under medical care to other suitable medical facilities.
• Participate in the departmental on-call Rota for patient care.
• Respond to emergencies to offer advice and actively participate in problem resolution if required, related to the specialty.
• Maintain appropriate records for all patients with accurate, timely, and legible completion of medical records.
• Educate patients and families according to their needs, implementing their role in the patient/family education process, including documentation.
• Involve patients and families in the plan of care, respecting their goals and choices.
• Provide health promotion and teaching through methods appropriate to a patient’s developmental level, learning needs, readiness, ability to learn, language preference, culture, and situations.

Professional Standards and Development

• Provide leadership for performance-improvement functions in the process of measurement, assessment, and improvement of clinical and non-clinical processes as part of the Departmental Quality Plan.
• Actively participate in Continued Medical Education (**** through educational hospital activities and national/international meetings.
• Actively participate in training programs within the hospital for junior medical staff, nursing staff, and technicians.
• Continuously update knowledge in the medical field and upgrade professional skills.
• Participate in assigned committee meetings, such as Quality Improvement and Infection Control.
• Abide by Department Policies and Procedures, hospital by-laws, Rules, and Regulations, as well as CBAHI / JCIA standards and Ministry of Health laws in KSA.

Qualifications and Requirements

• Education: Graduation from an accredited medical school (MBBS), completion of the required period of training, and a Post-graduate / Master's degree or equivalent qualification.
• Experience: A minimum of two (2) years of experience in the specialty after obtaining a Post Graduate Degree and being registered.
• Certifications: Valid Basic Life Support (BLS) certification and Advanced Life Support certification as per the assigned area.
• Licensing: Current valid license to practice medicine in the area of specialty. Registration in the Saudi Medical Council and/or a current license to practice medicine in Saudi Arabia as a Senior Registrar.
