The Role: Testing and Commissioning Engineer

Siemens is seeking a Testing and Commissioning Engineer (Substation Automation System) to join its team. This is a full-time position based in Jeddah, Makkah, Saudi Arabia. The engineer will be responsible for the design, parameterization, and commissioning of substation control and monitoring systems, contributing to the delivery of advanced infrastructure solutions.

Key Responsibilities

• Perform substation control and monitoring system design and parameterization.
• Execute Human Machine Interface (HMI) / SCADA parameterization.
• Conduct BCU and Protection digital relay parameterization for Medium and High Voltage IEDs.
• Lead substation control and monitoring system commissioning, including functional performance, Factory Acceptance Test (FAT), and Site Acceptance Test (SAT) with witness.
• Prepare technical reports and documentation, such as panel drawings, test protocols, and SCADA Point list/Module data Checklist.
• Provide project reporting to technical Project Management.
• Ensure adherence to EHS guidelines.
• Stay updated with end-user technical standards and regulations.
• Implement cybersecurity measures within automation systems.

Candidate Profile and Requirements

• A minimum of 5-10 years of experience in testing and commissioning substation automation systems or a related field.
• Demonstrated expertise in SCADA and HMI parameterization.
• Proficiency in digital relay parameterization for various IEDs.
• Ability to prepare detailed technical documentation and reports.
• Familiarity with relevant technical standards, regulations, and EHS guidelines.

Work Environment and Travel

The successful candidate will work within a collaborative team environment, sharing knowledge and contributing to collective goals. This role requires extensive travel throughout Saudi Arabia to participate in commissioning activities.
