About the Role

Farabi Petrochemicals is seeking a Senior Rotating Engineer to join our team in Yanbu. This full-time role is essential for providing expert guidance and support to maintenance activities, troubleshooting complex issues, and ensuring the reliability and optimal performance of rotating equipment across the plant. The Senior Rotating Engineer will play a key role in developing and implementing maintenance strategies, fostering continuous improvement, and enhancing the technical capabilities of the team.

Core Responsibilities

• Implement approved department policies, processes, and procedures, monitoring adherence to ensure controlled operations.
• Analyze the performance of rotating equipment systems and provide recommendations for enhancement.
• Coordinate with vendors for maintenance contracts and prepare detailed reports.
• Assist with maintenance activities for rotating equipment throughout the plant.
• Review required spares and services with vendors to prevent maintenance delays.
• Prepare accurate technical evaluation reports for the Department to meet requirements and standards.
• Ensure compliance with all relevant health, safety, security, and environmental (HSSE) procedures, actively participating in promoting risk assessments and incident investigations.
• Perform other related duties or assignments as directed.

Technical Leadership & Reliability

• Establish procedures and instructions for rotating equipment maintenance, adhering to engineering principles and safety regulations.
• Contribute to the development of Predictive and Preventive Maintenance plans and procedures for all rotating equipment.
• Provide technical expertise for rotating equipment maintenance activities, standards, and procedures.
• Witness and test newly installed rotating equipment to ensure fulfillment of supplied equipment specifications.
• Record and analyze causes of equipment failure, recommending long-term remedy solutions.
• Lead investigation teams and conduct root cause analysis for major rotating equipment failures.
• Troubleshoot various types of rotating equipment problems.
• Review parts selection for obsolete or out-of-production components.
• Participate in decisions regarding replacing rotating equipment by providing technical evaluations.
• Ensure the maintenance and updating of a database for historical data pertaining to rotating equipment failures, assisting in analyzing failure data and preparing reliability test reports.

Engineering Development & Mentorship

• Develop required technical studies, reports, and reviews for all types of rotating equipment.
• Develop and perform performance tests on different types of rotating equipment, such as compressors and pumps.
• Plan strategies to maintain rotating equipment and avoid obsolescence.
• Contribute to design packages for any upgrade changes in the plant's rotary equipment.
• Develop and review Operating Instruction Manuals for new rotary equipment or systems.
• Perform efficiency calculations for pumps and compressors.
• Perform vibration analysis (steady state, transient, vortex shedding, slug, water hammer).
• Provide on-job training to maintenance technicians to develop their skills in performing duties safely and economically.
• Mentor and transfer technical knowledge and skills to entry-level engineers.

Qualifications and Experience

• Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical Engineering.
• Minimum of 15 years of experience in Rotating Equipment within the oil industry or a similar process industry.
• Strong knowledge of oil industry standards and codes for Rotating Equipment Engineering.
• Additional certifications are an advantage.
