About the Cook II Role
Courtyard by Marriott is seeking a dedicated Cook II to join our culinary team in Al Jubail, Eastern region. This full-time position is responsible for preparing and cooking food items according to established recipes and quality standards, ensuring a clean and safe kitchen environment, and contributing to overall team success.
Core Culinary Responsibilities
- Prepare ingredients for cooking, including portioning, chopping, and proper storage of food items.
- Wash and peel fresh fruits and vegetables as required.
- Accurately weigh, measure, and mix ingredients according to recipes.
- Cook and prepare food in adherence to recipes, quality standards, presentation guidelines, and food preparation checklists.
- Prepare cold food items as needed.
- Operate various kitchen equipment including ovens, stoves, grills, microwaves, and fryers safely and efficiently.
- Test foods to ensure they are cooked to the appropriate doneness and monitor food quality throughout the preparation process.
- Set up and break down the assigned work station, ensuring cleanliness and organization.
- Serve food in proper portions using appropriate receptacles.
Kitchen Operations and Safety Standards
- Wash and disinfect kitchen areas, tables, tools, knives, and equipment regularly.
- Check and ensure the correctness of appliance and food temperatures.
- Adhere to all company, safety, and security policies and procedures.
- Report any maintenance needs, accidents, injuries, or unsafe work conditions to the manager promptly.
- Complete all required safety training and certifications.
- Ensure uniform and personal appearance are clean and professional at all times.
- Maintain confidentiality of proprietary information and protect company assets.
Team Collaboration and Professional Conduct
- Communicate with colleagues using clear and professional language.
- Develop and maintain positive working relationships with all team members.
- Support the team in achieving common goals and objectives.
- Listen and respond appropriately to the concerns of other employees.
- Ensure consistent adherence to quality expectations and standards across all tasks.
Physical Demands of the Role
- Ability to stand, sit, or walk for extended periods or for an entire work shift.
- Capability to reach overhead and below the knees, including bending, twisting, pulling, and stooping.
- Ability to move, lift, carry, push, pull, and place objects weighing less than or equal to 25 pounds without assistance.
- Perform other reasonable job duties as requested by Supervisors.
Required Qualifications
- Education: High school diploma or *** equivalent.
- Related Work Experience: At least 1 year of related work experience in a culinary setting.
- Supervisory Experience: No supervisory experience is required for this position.
- License or Certification: None specified.
