About the Role

TASNEE is seeking an Engineer III Electrical Reliability to join its team in Jubail, Eastern, Saudi Arabia. This full-time position is focused on enhancing the reliability, availability, and maintainability of the plant’s electrical assets.

Role Overview and Objectives

The Electrical Reliability Engineer III will drive initiatives aimed at improving the performance and long-term integrity of critical electrical systems. This involves leading the implementation of reliability best practices and supporting continuous improvement through the evaluation and adoption of new technologies and innovative solutions. A primary focus for this role includes Variable Frequency Drives (VFDs), switchgear, transformers, and protection relays.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead power system protection activities, including design, calculation, configuration, and testing.
• Utilize ETAP power system software for design and calculation of load flow, short circuit, ARC flash analysis, and ETAP STAR.
• Manage the maintenance and reliability analysis of Variable Frequency Drives (VFDs) from various manufacturers, specifically ABB (ACS800, ACS880, ACS6000 series) and Siemens.
• Oversee the design, calculation, and maintenance of power transformers, including DGA analysis.
• Conduct maintenance for LV switchgears, particularly ABB MNS with ABB EMAX1 circuit breakers.
• Perform maintenance and reliability analysis for MV & HV switchgears, ensuring appropriate preventive maintenance.
• Execute partial discharge analysis for MV Motors, Transformers, and Switchgears.
• Apply electrical condition monitoring methodologies such as thermography and ultrasound, including analyzing thermal images using FLIR software.
• Manage maintenance practices for UPS and Battery Chargers.
• Support synchronous motors and generators, understanding the distinctions between brush and brushless types.
• Apply reliability engineering methodologies and principles, including RCM and FMEA analysis.
• Interpret electrical drawings such as single line diagrams, protection schematics, and electronic schematics.
• Ensure compliance with hazardous area classification and electrical installation standards in high explosive atmospheres.

Required Expertise and Technical Skills

• Expert knowledge of power system protection, including design, calculation, configuration, and testing.
• Hands-on experience with ETAP power system software for load flow, short circuit, ARC flash analysis, and ETAP STAR.
• Extensive experience with Variable Frequency Drives (VFDs) from various manufacturers, particularly ABB (ACS800, ACS880, ACS6000 series) and Siemens.
• Proficiency in power transformer design, calculation, maintenance, and DGA analysis.
• Experience in LV switchgear maintenance, especially ABB MNS with ABB EMAX1 circuit breakers.
• Strong knowledge of MV & HV switchgear maintenance, reliability analysis, and preventive maintenance requirements.
• Proficiency in partial discharge analysis for MV Motors, Transformers, and Switchgears.
• Solid understanding of electrical condition monitoring methodologies, including thermography and ultrasound, with experience in FLIR software.
• Strong knowledge of UPS & Battery Chargers maintenance practices.
• Understanding of synchronous motors and generators, differentiating between brush and brushless types.
• Excellent knowledge of reliability engineering methodologies and principles such as RCM and FMEA analysis.
• Ability to read and interpret electrical drawings, including single line diagrams, protection schematics, and electronic schematics.
• Knowledge of hazardous area classification and electrical installation in high explosive atmospheres.
• Familiarity with SAP system and MERIDIUM APM.
• Basic knowledge of cathodic protection.

Experience Requirements

Candidates should possess 2-5 years of relevant experience in electrical reliability engineering or a closely related field.
