About the Role

TASNEE is seeking an Engineer III, Electrical Reliability to join its team in Al Jubail. This full-time role is central to enhancing the reliability, availability, and maintainability of the plant’s electrical assets. The Electrical Reliability Engineer will lead the implementation of reliability best practices and support continuous improvement by evaluating and adopting new technologies and innovative solutions, with a strong focus on critical electrical components.

Key Responsibilities

  • Drive initiatives to improve the reliability, availability, and maintainability of plant electrical assets.
  • Lead the implementation of electrical reliability best practices.
  • Support continuous improvement efforts by evaluating and adopting new technologies and innovative solutions.
  • Ensure optimal performance and long-term asset integrity for Variable Frequency Drives (VFDs), switchgear, transformers, and protection relays.
  • Apply strong knowledge in hazardous area classification and electrical installation in high explosive atmospheres.
  • Utilize knowledge of SAP system and MERIDIUM APM for asset management.

Technical Expertise

  • Demonstrate expert knowledge in power system protection, including design, calculation, configuration, and testing.
  • Possess hands-on experience with ETAP power system software for load flow, short circuit, ARC flash analysis, and ETAP STAR.
  • Exhibit high proficiency in Variable Frequency Drives (VFDs) from various manufacturers, particularly ABB (ACS800, ACS880, ACS6000 series) and Siemens.
  • Apply experience in power transformer design, calculation, and maintenance, with excellent skills in transformer DGA analysis.
  • Maintain LV switchgears, specifically ABB MNS with ABB EMAX1 circuit breakers.
  • Perform maintenance and reliability analysis for MV & HV switchgears, with comprehensive knowledge of required preventive maintenance.
  • Conduct partial discharge analysis in MV Motors, Transformers, and Switchgears.
  • Implement electrical condition monitoring methodologies, including thermography and ultrasound, and analyze thermal images using FLIR software.
  • Oversee maintenance practices for UPS and Battery Chargers.
  • Possess strong knowledge of synchronous motors and generators, understanding the differences between brush and brushless types.
  • Apply excellent knowledge of reliability engineering methodologies and principles such as RCM and FMEA analysis.
  • Demonstrate proficiency in reading and understanding electrical drawings, including single line diagrams, protection schematics, and electronic schematics.
  • Possess basic knowledge of cathodic protection.

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Electrical Engineering.
  • Minimum of 12 years of electrical engineering experience within the Petrochemical, Oil & Gas sectors.

This is a full-time position based in Al Jubail, Saudi Arabia, within TASNEE. The role involves working in a dynamic industrial environment focused on maintaining high operational reliability for critical electrical infrastructure.
