Mandarin Translator

About the Role

Hatch is seeking a Mandarin Translator to join their team in Al Jubail, Eastern Province. This full-time role is essential for facilitating high-quality translation and interpretation services, supporting technical, commercial, and business activities within the Hatch × Ma'aden Partnership. The Translator will ensure accurate communication between English and Mandarin-speaking stakeholders across various teams, including engineering, project delivery, operations, procurement, and leadership.

Key Responsibilities

• Translate technical documents, engineering reports, specifications, procedures, correspondence, presentations, and project documentation between English and Mandarin.
• Review translated materials to ensure linguistic accuracy, consistency, and appropriate industry terminology.
• Maintain translation records, terminology databases, and reference materials to support consistency across projects.
• Assist in the preparation and localization of business communications, training materials, and stakeholder engagement documents.
• Provide consecutive and/or simultaneous interpretation during meetings, workshops, presentations, negotiations, and site visits.
• Facilitate communication between project teams, management, clients, contractors, and external stakeholders.
• Support cross-cultural communication and help ensure effective understanding between parties.
• Assist project teams by translating technical information and conducting basic research when required.
• Support the coordination of communications between international and local stakeholders.
• Prepare summaries and translated meeting notes to support project decision-making.
• Ensure confidentiality of sensitive commercial, operational, and project information.
• Work closely with engineering, project management, procurement, and operational teams to support business objectives.
• Contribute to the development and continuous improvement of translation standards, templates, and processes.
• Stay informed of industry-specific terminology, technical developments, and best practices within the mining and metals sector.

Qualifications and Experience

• 2-5 years of experience in translation and interpretation.
• Strong language skills in English and Mandarin.
• Technical understanding of the mining and metals industry.

Work Environment and Schedule

This position is based in Jubail, at the Chamber of Commerce Building, Al - Shati, Fanateer. The working hours are Sunday to Thursday, from 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM. The role requires the ability to work in a fast-paced project environment while maintaining accuracy, confidentiality, and professionalism.
