Production Engineer Polyethylene Operations

About the Role

S-Chem is seeking a Production Engineer Polyethylene Operations to join their team in Al Jubail, Eastern Region. This full-time role focuses on providing technical support for process control and automation to optimize plant operations, ensuring compliance with EHS system requirements. The position involves monitoring key plant parameters, managing small unit changes, and supporting continuous improvement initiatives.

Key Responsibilities

• Provide engineering and process expertise to achieve established targets, improve process capability, efficiency, yield, and quality within the production budget.
• Identify debottlenecks and profit opportunities in coordination with licensing and technical support groups.
• Manage chemicals, catalysts, and additives, including creating annual consumption projections, updating BOMs, tracking consumption trends, and outlining delivery schedules.
• Support projects during plant commissioning and turnaround activities.
• Assist in troubleshooting activities related to process operations or new production plant projects.
• Recommend changes and improvements to Standard Operating Procedures and work methods for specific production areas.
• Lead the Management of Change (MOC) process for unit changes and support other disciplines in executing MOCs.
• Prepare operating and capital expense budgets, and act as a liaison between plant project engineering and operations for capital projects.
• Monitor cost and cost allocations monthly to ensure compliance with budgeted projections.
• Coordinate with Turnaround (T/A) planning to assist in developing shutdown and startup activities.
• Determine product specifications in collaboration with stakeholders and respond to customer complaints, providing root cause analysis and corrective actions.
• Participate in HAZOP/LOPA reviews.
• Adhere to environmental, health, safety, and quality policies and procedures.
• Undertake accountabilities in the operational excellence process.
• Contribute to continuous improvement processes within the assigned area.

Qualifications and Experience

• Bachelor’s degree in Chemical Engineering.
• Minimum of 3 years of relevant experience as a Production Engineer in Polyethylene Operations.

This is a full-time position based in Al Jubail, within the Eastern Region, focusing on polyethylene operations.
