Production Engineer I

About the Role

Farabi Petrochemicals is seeking a Production Engineer - I to join their team in Yanbu. This full-time role is crucial for ensuring the cost-effective and timely manufacturing of quality products, while maintaining plant process operating equipment integrity and promoting safe and efficient operations. The ideal candidate will have 6-10 years of relevant experience.

Job Purpose and Core Responsibilities

The Production Engineer - I will advise on production operations to optimize day-to-day activities, ensuring adherence to established standards and procedures. This role involves integrating production processes across all shifts and establishing short-term activities to maintain production continuity and balance.

• Implement approved department policies, processes, and procedures (SSP, SOP) and monitor adherence.
• Manage emergency and planned shutdowns in alignment with production and marketing plans.
• Coordinate with other functions to ensure support for output, productivity, and quality targets.
• Select, organize, train, and motivate the production workforce to achieve consistent production schedules at optimum productivity and cost.
• Recommend and implement improvements in production flow or methods.
• Monitor plants and production performance, advising management to ensure optimal operations and adherence to required standards and quality.
• Prepare reports on chemicals, raw materials, and finished product inventories.
• Assist with budgeting, Capex, Business Planning, SD planning, FCRs, and departmental minor projects.
• Coordinate environmental and safety issues related to department KPIs.
• Prepare BEC, Board meeting presentations, Executive monthly summaries, and status updates for the General Manager.
• Manage dead stocks and commitments with customers.

Reporting, HSSE, and Compliance

This role includes significant responsibilities in reporting, health, safety, security, and environmental (HSSE) compliance, and incident management.

• Assist in preparing timely and accurate reports for Senior Management.
• Ensure accurate capture and timely presentation of key information to decision-makers.
• Ensure compliance with all relevant health, safety, security, and environmental procedures.
• Verify adequacy of employee safety programs and the work permit system.
• Recommend and evaluate the effectiveness of health monitoring programs.
• Plan and implement safety and emergency training effectively.
• Conduct high-quality incident investigations and manage crises effectively.

Qualifications and Experience

Candidates should possess 6-10 years of experience in a relevant production engineering role. The position requires the ability to operate within established policies and procedures, making decisions based on detailed standard practices and instructions.

Internal and External Relationships

The Production Engineer - I will engage with various internal departments and external entities to ensure seamless operations and support.

• Internal: Maintenance, Warehouse, ISD, HR, IT, Marketing & Sales.
• External: Off-site facilities such as SASREF, SABTANK, ARAMCO, SECCO, KEMYA, as well as existing and potential suppliers and contractors.
