KBR Sustainable Technology Solutions (STS) delivers comprehensive solutions across the asset lifecycle, including licensed process technologies, advisory services, technical expertise, energy transition solutions, and design capabilities. KBR is seeking an Area Superintendent/Maintenance Head to manage daily operations and equipment repairs. This full-time position is based in Al Khobar, Eastern Province, and Saudi Nationals are preferred for this role.

Role Overview

The Area Superintendent will oversee the day-to-day activities of various support services, including the welding & fabrication shop, scaffolding & insulation workshop, and the heavy lift & rigging division. This role involves managing both planned and unplanned equipment repairs to ensure operational availability and adherence to organizational policies and safety standards.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead and manage overall department functions, providing direction to employees, conducting evaluations, and ensuring project tasks are completed within set timelines.
• Contribute to the development and implementation of departmental goals, objectives, policies, procedures, and priorities.
• Prepare, optimize, and track preventive maintenance (PM) schedules for equipment, aiming to minimize breakdowns through effective monitoring and scheduling.
• Oversee daily activities of support services (welding & fabrication, scaffolding & insulation, heavy lift & rigging) and manage equipment repairs.
• Manage the deployment of resources, equipment, and machinery to sites for routine and emergency situations.
• Review work plans and job request priorities to allocate resources, monitor workflow, methods of operation (MOS), and procedures, and address identified gaps.
• Review weekly plans and provide feedback to the Planning team to achieve schedule compliance.
• Coordinate with internal departments, external workshops, and OEM dealers for repairs, parts, and issue resolution.
• Ensure all equipment and workshop facilities are maintained to meet Health, Safety, and Environment (HSE) standards.
• Conduct regular safety audits, identify potential hazards, and implement corrective actions.
• Recommend and schedule employee safety and technical training programs.
• Review daily, weekly, and monthly maintenance performance reports, timesheets, and Key Performance Indicators (KPIs).
• Respond promptly to emergencies and ensure accurate reporting of all incidents, accidents, or violations.

Qualifications and Experience

• Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or a related field.
• Over 10 years of experience, with previous experience as a maintenance engineer in a refining environment or equivalent.
• Demonstrated ability to resolve problems as a leader within large organizations.
• Well-organized, proactive, and possessing strong communication skills.
• Maturity of judgment under pressure.
• A strategic mindset open to new ideas.
• Proven capacity to achieve positive results in a multicultural environment.

Work Environment

This is a full-time position based in Al Khobar, Eastern Province. The role involves managing diverse teams and coordinating with various internal and external stakeholders to maintain operational efficiency and safety standards.
