About the Role

Kempinski Hotels is seeking a dedicated Steward to join our team in Al Khobar, Eastern, Saudi Arabia. This full-time position is suitable for candidates with 0-1 years of experience in a relevant field. The primary scope of this role involves serving food and beverages to guests in assigned areas, ensuring a courteous, professional, efficient, and flexible service that aligns with the high standards of the hotel and Kempinski. This contributes directly to encouraging sales and maximizing guest satisfaction.

Key Service Responsibilities

• Provide professional and courteous service at all times, setting a clear example for all employees within the assigned outlet.
• Execute and ensure the team consistently maintains the highest level of service and set-up standards.
• Demonstrate comprehensive knowledge of all services and products offered by the hotel.
• Monitor operating supplies and equipment to effectively reduce spoilage and wastage.
• Assist in carrying out scheduled inventories of products and operating equipment.

Stewarding Operations and Maintenance

• Ensure the workplace and surrounding areas are kept clean and organized consistently.
• Perform general cleaning duties as assigned by the Head of Department.
• Clean and wash dishes, pots, pans, and other kitchen equipment according to established performance standards.
• Ensure adherence to all garbage regulations, including proper item separation and assigned garbage runs.
• Possess knowledge of all cleaning procedures, the operation of dishwashing machines, and the types of chemicals used.
• Report failures and malfunctioning equipment directly, handling all provided operating equipment and machinery responsibly.

Professional Conduct and Compliance

• Report directly to the Assistant Stewarding Manager or Stewarding Manager.
• Understand and strictly adhere to the rules and regulations outlined in the hotel’s policy manual, including policies on fire, hygiene, health, and safety.
• Report to duty punctually, wearing the correct, clean, and well-pressed uniform, appropriate safety shoes, and nametag at all times.
• Maintain a high standard of personal appearance and hygiene.
• Cultivate a good rapport and working relationship with staff within the assigned department and across the hotel.
• Undertake reasonable tasks and secondary duties as assigned by the Department Head or dictated by hotel management.

Qualifications and Experience

• 0-1 years of relevant experience.
• Ability to follow established hotel standards and procedures diligently.
• Commitment to maintaining high standards of cleanliness, organization, and service.
• Understanding of hygiene, health, and safety regulations relevant to hotel operations.
