About the Waiter/Waitress Role

Kempinski Hotels is seeking a full-time Waiter/Waitress to join the team in Al Khobar, Eastern region, specifically within a Lebanese restaurant setting. This role is central to delivering exceptional food and beverage service to guests, ensuring a courteous, professional, and efficient experience consistent with hotel standards and Kempinski’s DNA values. The position is suitable for candidates with 0-1 years of experience in a similar environment.

Key Service Responsibilities

• Serve food and beverages to guests in the assigned outlet, ensuring a courteous, professional, efficient, and flexible service.
• Maintain thorough knowledge and understanding of all food and beverage items offered by the department.
• Explain and perform upselling of menu items, offering alternatives as appropriate to enhance guest satisfaction and encourage sales.
• Handle guest enquiries in a courteous and efficient manner, promptly reporting any guest complaints or feedback to supervisors.
• Ensure follow-up is performed with guests regarding any reported complaints.

Operational Duties

• Perform all duties and tasks as required for the assigned outlet, including successful execution of opening and closing procedures.
• Ensure the place of work and surrounding area are kept clean and organized at all times.
• Monitor operating supplies and equipment, actively working to reduce spoilage and wastage.
• Operate the existing POS system based on the trained responsibility level assigned within the department.
• Assist in carrying out scheduled inventories of products and operating equipment.

Professional Conduct and Compliance

• Report to duty punctually, wearing the correct uniform, which must be clean and well-pressed, including appropriate polished shoes and nametag, in adherence to the hotel’s dress code and Kempinski grooming standards.
• Maintain a high standard of personal appearance and hygiene at all times.
• Understand and strictly adhere to the rules and regulations established in the hotel’s policy manual, including policies on fire, hygiene, health, and safety.
• Maintain a good rapport and working relationship with staff within the assigned department and across the hotel.
• Attend and contribute to all staff meetings, departmental trainings, and hotel-initiated trainings as scheduled.

Qualifications and Experience

Candidates for this position should possess 0-1 years of experience in a hospitality or food and beverage service role. A strong service orientation and the ability to learn quickly are essential. Knowledge of hotel services and products will be beneficial.

Reporting and Adaptability

The Waiter/Waitress reports to the Head Waiter/Waitress, Supervisor, Assistant Manager, and Outlet Manager. The role requires a positive and motivated attitude, exercising self-control, and the willingness to undertake reasonable tasks and secondary duties as assigned by the Department Head. The ability to respond to any changes in the department as dictated by hotel management is also expected.
