Waiter (Lebanese restaurant)

About the Role

Kempinski Hotel is seeking a dedicated Waiter for its Lebanese restaurant. This full-time position is central to delivering exceptional guest experiences by providing courteous, professional, and efficient food and beverage service. The role focuses on maximizing guest satisfaction and contributing to sales, all while upholding the high standards of the hotel and aligning with Kempinski’s core values. The Waiter operates under the direct guidance of the outlet's supervisory and management team.

Core Responsibilities

• Serve food and beverages to guests in the assigned outlet, ensuring a professional and efficient service experience.
• Maintain comprehensive knowledge of all food and beverage items offered, including the ability to explain, upsell, and offer suitable alternatives to guests.
• Perform all required duties and tasks within the outlet, including the successful execution of established opening and closing procedures.
• Operate the existing Point of Sale (POS) system accurately, adhering to trained responsibility levels within the department.
• Assist in carrying out scheduled inventories of products and operating equipment as required.

Guest Service and Operational Standards

• Provide consistently courteous, professional, and efficient service to all guests at all times.
• Handle guest enquiries in a courteous and efficient manner, promptly reporting any guest complaints or feedback to supervisors for immediate follow-up.
• Monitor operating supplies and equipment, actively working to reduce spoilage and wastage within the outlet.
• Ensure the place of work and surrounding area are kept clean, organized, and hygienic at all times.
• Maintain thorough knowledge of all services and products offered by the hotel to assist guests effectively.

Professional Conduct and Development

• Report to duty punctually, adhering strictly to the hotel's dress code and Kempinski grooming standards, including wearing the correct, clean, and well-pressed uniform with appropriate polished shoes and nametag.
• Maintain a high standard of personal appearance and hygiene consistently.
• Understand and strictly adhere to all rules and regulations established in the hotel’s policy manual, including policies on fire, hygiene, health, and safety.
• Foster a positive rapport and strong working relationships with staff within the assigned department and across the hotel.
• Actively attend and contribute to all scheduled staff meetings, departmental trainings, and hotel-initiated training programs.
• Undertake reasonable tasks and secondary duties as assigned by the Department Head, and respond flexibly to any changes in the department as dictated by hotel management.

Qualifications and Experience

• A minimum of 0-1 year of experience in a similar role, preferably within the hospitality industry.
• Demonstrated ability to provide professional and efficient service in a fast-paced environment.
• Strong commitment to maintaining high standards of personal appearance, hygiene, and punctuality.
• Basic understanding of Point of Sale (POS) systems is preferred.
• Ability to work effectively as part of a team, maintaining a positive and motivated attitude.
