The Role of Speech and Language Therapist

We are seeking a Speech and Language Therapist to join our team. This full-time role involves supporting children in developing their communication, language, and speech skills through evidence-based therapeutic approaches. The position requires 0-1 years of experience in the field.

Key Responsibilities

• Conduct comprehensive assessments of children's speech, language, and communication skills using appropriate tools.
• Identify speech, language, and communication disorders, including language delay, speech sound disorders, stuttering, and communication difficulties associated with Autism Spectrum Disorder.
• Prepare assessment reports and develop individualized treatment plans based on each child's needs.
• Provide speech, language, and communication therapy sessions, focusing on receptive and expressive language skills, speech, and social communication.
• Utilize Augmentative and Alternative Communication (AAC) when necessary to support therapy goals.
• Monitor children's progress, adjust treatment plans, and document all therapy sessions and clinical observations accurately.
• Prepare periodic reports to measure progress and ensure therapeutic goals are met.

Collaboration and Communication

• Provide guidance and direction to parents regarding speech and language development, including training families on home strategies.
• Discuss child progress, challenges, and future plans with parents regularly and professionally.
• Collaborate with occupational therapists, behavioral therapists, psychologists, and special education specialists within a multidisciplinary team.
• Participate in case discussion meetings and contribute to joint treatment plan development.
• Contribute to awareness programs, workshops, and developmental activities organized by the centre.

Professional Standards

The Speech and Language Therapist is expected to maintain the confidentiality of children's information and medical records and adhere to the centre's approved policies, procedures, and professional standards.
