About the Opportunity

Hill International, Inc. is seeking a full-time Architect Inspector to join our team in Dammam, Eastern, Saudi Arabia. This role requires 5-10 years of experience in architectural inspection, focusing on villa construction projects.

Role Overview

The Architect Inspector is responsible for overseeing and ensuring the quality and compliance of architectural and finishing works on site. This involves meticulous review of project documentation and diligent monitoring of construction activities to meet approved standards and specifications.

Core Responsibilities

• Review approved architectural drawings, specifications, material submittals, and method statements prior to execution on site.
• Conduct daily inspections of architectural and finishing works for villa construction projects.
• Monitor construction activities including blockwork, plastering, screeding, waterproofing, tiling, marble works, ceilings, painting, façade finishes, joinery, aluminum works, and landscaping interfaces.
• Ensure compliance with approved drawings, project specifications, quality standards, and local authority regulations.
• Review and approve Inspection Requests (IRs) related to architectural and finishing works.
• Conduct Material Inspection Requests (MIRs) to verify delivered materials match approved samples and specifications.
• Identify non-conforming works and issue Site Observation Reports (SORs) and Non-Conformance Reports (NCRs); monitor corrective and preventive actions.
• Participate in mock-up inspections and ensure approvals prior to proceeding with bulk finishing works.
• Coordinate with Structural and MEP Inspectors to ensure proper sequencing and integration of architectural finishes.
• Monitor contractor performance with respect to approved Inspection & Test Plans (ITPs) and QA/QC procedures.
• Assist in preparing snag lists, conduct pre-handover inspections, and ensure timely rectification of defects.
• Maintain accurate inspection records and prepare periodic quality reports for submission to the Senior Resident Engineer.
• Attend progress and technical meetings with Contractors and Client representatives as required.
• Ensure compliance with Company Quality, Environmental, Health & Safety policies and procedures.
• Perform other duties as assigned by the line manager/supervisor.

Required Qualifications

Candidates for this position should possess 5-10 years of experience in architectural inspection, preferably within villa construction projects. A strong understanding of construction processes, quality standards, and regulatory compliance is essential for success in this role.

Quality Assurance and Project Compliance

A critical aspect of this role involves upholding stringent quality and compliance standards across all architectural works. The Architect Inspector will be instrumental in identifying non-conforming works, implementing corrective actions, and ensuring all project activities align with approved designs, specifications, and local regulations. Adherence to Company Quality, Environmental, Health & Safety policies is mandatory.

Work Environment and Reporting

This full-time position is based in Dammam, Saudi Arabia, and involves daily site inspections and coordination with various project stakeholders, including structural and MEP inspectors, contractors, and client representatives.
