The Role of Business Development Engineer

The Business Development Engineer supports the origination and development of commercial & industrial (C&I) solar PV and energy-storage opportunities throughout their full commercial lifecycle. This full-time role involves enabling origination across Solutions Valley's business lines, building partnerships, evaluating new solutions, and assisting in qualifying the company into new markets and services. This position is suited for a technically-literate early-career professional with 0-1 years of experience who understands the Saudi solar market and aims to grow into a deal owner.

Key Responsibilities

• Identify, screen, and qualify C&I solar PV opportunities, and maintain a clean, well-structured pipeline.
• Support the commercial and financial evaluation of opportunities to inform go/no-go and investment decisions.
• Coordinate development activities across the deal lifecycle with internal functions (technical, finance, legal, investment) and external counterparties, ensuring progress and early flagging of blockers.
• Support the regulatory, permitting, and approvals workstreams required to progress a project.
• Assist in the preparation of commercial offers and contractual agreements in coordination with relevant functions.
• Prepare materials for internal reviews and approvals, and maintain accurate deal documentation and trackers.
• Qualify Solutions Valley's various business lines with Mega Projects and main markets within the Kingdom.
• Support the development of client, EPC, and technology/OEM partnerships, including partner research, outreach coordination, and material preparation.
• Screen and benchmark new technologies and solutions, and prepare concise evaluation notes and recommendations.
• Support Solutions Valley's qualification and entry into new markets and services (*, market-entry assessments and new commercial models).
• Conduct market, competitor, and sector analysis; contribute to market mapping and pipeline-building.
