About the Role

Bupa Arabia is seeking a Consultant Internal Medicine & Adult Endocrinology to provide comprehensive medical care to adult patients. This full-time position is based in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia, and focuses on delivering expert clinical care in telemedicine settings for internal medicine and endocrinology needs. The role involves diagnosing, treating, and managing a wide range of endocrine conditions, including diabetes, thyroid disorders, adrenal diseases, and metabolic syndromes.

Key Responsibilities

• Conduct comprehensive assessments and accurate diagnoses of endocrine disorders, including detailed patient histories and physical examinations.
• Utilize diagnostic tools such as blood tests, imaging studies (ultrasound, MRI), and other endocrine function tests, collaborating with laboratory staff for interpretation.
• Perform comprehensive telehealth consultations for internal and general medicine complaints, developing personalized treatment plans and prescribing medications.
• Oversee ongoing care for chronic and acute conditions, adjusting treatment plans based on patient feedback and clinical outcomes.
• Practice population health management by identifying and addressing community health issues, implementing preventive measures, and promoting health education.
• Ensure the delivery of high-quality and safe clinical care, adhering to established clinical guidelines and best practices.
• Foster effective collaboration with multidisciplinary healthcare teams, engaging in regular case discussions and facilitating referrals.
• Maintain compliance with all patient safety standards, reporting any risks or issues to the appropriate quality department staff.
• Document findings and treatment plans meticulously in patient records.

Treatment Planning and Implementation

• Develop and implement effective treatment plans, discussing options and preferences with patients.
• Design individualized treatment strategies that may include medication, surgery, or non-invasive therapies.
• Monitor patient progress and adjust treatment plans as necessary.
• Explain medications, possible side effects, and proper use to patients.

Clinical Quality and Patient Safety

• Adhere to clinical guidelines and best practices established by professional organizations in endocrinology.
• Participate in quality assurance initiatives, including audits and peer reviews.
• Implement safety protocols to minimize risks and complications associated with endocrine treatments.
• Maintain satisfactory patient consultations through effective communication, thorough history taking, empathy, and clear explanation of diagnosis and management plans.
