About the Field Service Technician Role

Rapiscan Systems, a global leader in detection technology, is seeking a motivated Field Service Technician (FST) to join our team in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia. This full-time position involves providing essential technical support for advanced cargo and vehicle inspection systems. The role offers an opportunity to gain experience in a critical security sector, supporting the deployment and maintenance of sophisticated X-ray scanning equipment.

Role Overview and Responsibilities

As a Field Service Technician, you will deliver Level 1 and Level 2 technical support for Rapiscan Systems' cargo and vehicle inspection (CVI) solutions. Your primary duties will include performing maintenance, troubleshooting, and repairs on mechanical, electrical, and software components of these complex systems. You will work under the guidance of Field Service Engineers (FSEs) to ensure optimal system performance and minimal downtime. This role also involves assisting with system installations, providing clear technical communication, and maintaining accurate documentation.

Key Responsibilities

• Perform Level 1 and Level 2 maintenance, troubleshooting, and repair of Cargo Vehicle Inspection (CVI) systems and subsystems, including mechanical, electrical, and software components, as directed by the Field Service Engineer (FSE).
• Identify, isolate, and resolve technical issues across CVI systems to ensure minimal downtime and optimal system performance through proactive and reactive maintenance.
• Provide clear and concise oral and written reports, escalating complex technical issues (Level 3) to engineering teams or site engineers for accurate and timely resolution.
• Assist installation teams during system deployment phases, including setup, configuration, and initial testing of CVI systems.
• Complete all required technical documentation, including service daily and weekly reports, and system logs. Accurately input service data into internal databases and reporting tools.
• Adhere to all company, customer, and regulatory safety standards and protocols while working on-site.

Qualifications and Experience

This role is suitable for individuals with 0-1 years of experience. While previous experience in field service or maintenance/repair of various products is beneficial, full training will be provided for the right candidate. An engineering degree is preferable. Experience gained within an electrical or mechanical discipline is required. Proficiency in operating power tools and using hand tools is essential. The ability to work independently in potentially harsh and remote environments, as well as collaboratively as part of a team, is necessary.

• Background in an electrical or mechanical discipline.
• IPAF Manlift training is considered an advantage.
• Arabic speaking ability is considered an advantage.

Work Environment and Location
