About the Role

CARE is seeking a General Practitioner (IM) to join their team in Riyadh. This full-time position involves providing comprehensive patient care in accordance with established medical standards and ethical guidelines.

Key Responsibilities

• Deliver high-quality medical treatment, compassion, and understanding to all patients.
• Provide patient care within the scope of professional competence and clinical privileges.
• Perform patient history taking, physical examinations, interpret diagnostic tests, and formulate management plans.
• Conduct daily ward rounds for inpatients and liaise with consultants regarding patient care.
• Participate actively in on-call rotations and morning reports.
• Admit patients from referral facilities after discussion with the supervising consultant.
• Evaluate new admissions, coordinate investigation plans with consultants, and execute approved management plans.
• Seek guidance from senior staff when patient conditions require specialized expertise.
• Document all plans and progress notes in patient charts.
• Present previous day's admissions during morning reports.
• Execute required diagnostic procedures after consultation with senior staff.
• Participate in outpatient services (OPD and ER) under senior staff supervision.
• Prepare discharge summaries, death reports, and other patient-related reports as needed.
• Participate in continuing medical education (CME) through medical meetings and departmental educational activities.
• Educate patients and families regarding their needs and involve them in the plan of care, respecting their goals and choices.
• Provide health promotion and health teaching using methods appropriate to the patient's developmental level, learning needs, and cultural background.
• Abide by the policies and procedures of the Department of Internal Medicine and the by-laws of Riyadh Care hospital.

Reporting and Supervision

This role reports to the Senior Registrar, Consultant Internist, Consultant of the Subspecialty (Division), and Head of Department. There are no direct supervisory responsibilities.

Qualifications and Experience

• University Medical Degree (*, * or recognized equivalent).
• Recognition as a General Practitioner by the Saudi Commission for Health Specialties.
• Minimum of two (2) years of experience in Medicine post-degree.
• Current valid license to practice medicine in the area of specialty.
• Additional qualifications or experience in the specialty are preferable.
• Academic affiliation is preferable.

Required Skills and Competencies

• Fluency in verbal and written English.
• Communication in spoken Arabic is desirable.
• Good general health and the ability to work extended hours under stress.
• Professionalism and excellent interpersonal communication skills.
• Knowledge of medical by-laws.
• Proficiency in computer applications.
