Health and Safety Supervisor

About the Role

Initial Facilities Management is seeking a Health and Safety Supervisor to join their team in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia. This full-time role involves overseeing and maintaining high standards of health, safety, and environmental practices across the workplace, ensuring compliance with company policies and HSE regulations.

Role Purpose

The Health and Safety Supervisor is responsible for ensuring adherence to applicable safety standards and promoting a strong safety culture among all employees and contractors. The role focuses on identifying hazards, implementing control measures, and supporting the continuous improvement of the site's HSE management system.

Key Responsibilities

• Supervise daily health and safety activities across the assigned site.
• Conduct regular workplace inspections, safety audits, and risk assessments.
• Identify potential hazards and implement appropriate control measures.
• Ensure compliance with HSE policies, procedures, and legal requirements.
• Monitor safe work practices and ensure employees follow safety procedures.
• Investigate accidents, incidents, near misses, and unsafe conditions.
• Prepare and maintain HSE reports, inspection records, and incident documentation.
• Conduct safety inductions, toolbox talks, and awareness training for employees.
• Monitor the proper use of PPE and safety equipment.
• Coordinate emergency response procedures and participate in emergency drills.
• Follow up on corrective and preventive actions to ensure timely closure.
• Work closely with supervisors, managers, contractors, and employees to resolve safety issues.
• Support the implementation and continuous improvement of the site's HSE management system.
• Promote a proactive safety culture and encourage employees to report hazards and unsafe practices.
• Provide regular safety performance updates and recommendations to management.

Qualifications and Experience

• Relevant qualification in Occupational Health & Safety, HSE, or a related field.
• Previous experience in a Health & Safety/HSE supervisory role.
• Good knowledge of workplace safety regulations, risk assessment, and incident investigation.
• Relevant HSE certifications are preferred.

Required Skills

• Strong communication, reporting, and problem-solving skills.
• Ability to conduct safety inspections and deliver effective safety training.
