Horticulturalist Indoor Gardens

About the Role

Eram Talent is seeking a Horticulturalist for Indoor Gardens to join their team in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia. This full-time position involves supporting the care, maintenance, propagation, and presentation of indoor plant collections and horticultural displays. The role focuses on ensuring high standards of plant health, horticultural quality, sustainability, and visitor experience within indoor environments.

Role Context and Team

The Indoor Gardens team is responsible for maintaining diverse plant collections and displays. This position provides practical and technical support across various horticultural activities, including plant establishment, irrigation, nutrition, and environmental monitoring. The Horticulturalist will work closely with the Horticulturalist, Botanic Garden Curator, and the wider horticulture team, contributing to plant inventory management, display maintenance, and pest and disease control.

Key Responsibilities

• Maintain indoor plant collections, displays, and controlled growing environments such as greenhouses.
• Perform routine plant care tasks including watering, pruning, repotting, fertilization, and plant replacement.
• Monitor plant health to identify pests, diseases, nutrient deficiencies, and environmental stress.
• Support and implement Integrated Pest Management (IPM) strategies and appropriate plant-health treatments.
• Monitor environmental factors such as temperature, humidity, light, ventilation, irrigation, growing media, and plant nutrition.
• Maintain accurate plant inventories, labels, databases, and horticultural records.
• Support plant propagation using various methods including seeds, cuttings, and division.
• Ensure high horticultural, aesthetic, and cleanliness standards for displays and visitor areas.
• Support greenhouse operations, indoor display maintenance, and overall plant collection management.
• Collaborate with horticulture teams, botanists, contractors, and other multidisciplinary teams.

Qualifications and Experience

• Bachelor's degree in Horticulture, Botany, Plant Sciences, or a related discipline.
• Relevant experience (0-1 year) in indoor horticulture, indoor garden management, greenhouse, conservatory, or controlled growing environments.
• Practical experience in plant care, propagation, pruning, repotting, irrigation, fertilization, and general plant maintenance.
• Experience in identifying plant pests, diseases, nutrient deficiencies, and environmental stress.
• Knowledge and practical experience with Integrated Pest Management (IPM).
• Experience monitoring temperature, humidity, light, irrigation, ventilation, and growing conditions.
• Experience maintaining plant collections, horticultural displays, plant records, and inventories.
• Experience in a botanic garden, greenhouse, conservatory, nursery, public garden, or similar horticultural facility is preferred.
